The most dangerous factor in driving the Cobra was the road conditions. We have a lot of high-speed beat up roads where I live.

The car is worth about 5K in good condition, so the price is fair. The only question is if you like the customization. I like the front end, other parts, not so much. Personally I’d prefer an original.
I had a very nice Factory Five with a 302. It is, without a doubt, the most fun I’ve ever had behind the wheel of anything. Gorgeous, incredibly fast, dangerous, and LOUD. I drove it every chance I got. I met people everywhere I went, which was fun too. Every drive was truly an experience and wherever I was, all I…
I think Clarkson said it best (paraphrase from memory): “ The self-driving car will be brilliant until some guy named Bob tries to upgrade it in his garage”.
I feel your pain man...
I’ve never been a fan of “brand loyalty” in general.
Tesla is a status brand, no worries about the bowtie.
I too have done what Doug does, own, enjoy then sell questionable high-end cars. I also go through a credit union, with a very reasonable rate, but I bit higher than Doug’s 4% (probably due to a lower credit score.)
They even financed a Factory Five Cobra which shocked me.
Fantastic choice! This is the 3rd time you’ve purchased a car on my ownership bucket list! I look forward to the education.
Self-driving cars can’t come fast enough for these folks.
Now THAT is the perfect car for someone who likes“crocheting and knitting while driving”.
The Prius is a bad car and the MAC Book Air is a bad computer, and grossly over-priced.
The reason people by both is the same - they simply don’t know any better nor do they are care.
Your comparing apples to oranges.
The C6 Vette is no “driver’s car”; it’s simply an over-powered RWD car with an 1800s leaf spring suspension that you’re comparing to 4WD a rally-inspired daily driver.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the Vette and its fun, but not even remotely comparable.
I have no idea what you’re on about; its a pretty rare car to see.
Of the ones I have seen, the drivers are not what you imagine they are in your bitter little self righteous mind.
I agree, I was surprised the first time I saw one at the car show. I expected it to be full fat sedan, but it was lower and sleeker looking than I expected.
You’re taking like a car enthusiast, and I’m with you on that, but unfortunately gizmos do sell cars and having control of gizmos likely will yield profits even out of competitors (like Toyota).
Given the short amount of time we’ve been at it, I’d say the progress has been amazing.
Climate Change won’t be addressed by politicians and climate scientists, it will be addressed by engineers and profit motives.
I agree; the time table of AGW allows for adaptation and mitigation and significant technological progress. A CME would likely halt this and all other technological progress immediately and without warning, knocking the 1st world back to the 3rd.
A direct hit from a CME would only exacerbate AGW. We’re not going to revert back to the 1800s, we’re going to revert back to using the simpler, dirtier, tech of the recent past.
If we were to revert back to 1800 levels of technology, we’d also revert back to 1800s levels of population; somewhere between 1-2…
Totally agree.
I still hate the Porsche Cayenne; what’s to like? It’s a fat Porsche that transitioned the once sporty brand towards pretentious mommies, their precious little brats, and dads who can no longer fit in a real Porsche.
