That does sound really great; I’m surprised they put the effort into the V6. Engine sound is a BIG part of what sells me on a car.
355HP and great sound for 30K would have me sold, but I really don’t care for the looks of the 5th gen. 4 was so much sexier.

Is that all this is? Bad tire pressure?
I don’t know how people crash going in a strait line, then again I’ve never really driven anything much over 400HP.

Insurance costs may price them out of the range of kids.
That and I don’t think many will last that long.
Anyway I think I’d be more concerned with “semi-self driving” cars getting in the hands of kids and amateur tuners.

Doubt it, most of these hideous bumpers aren’t their for fashion, and aren’t found on the European versions of the cars.

Ya it takes a while to make up your story and find a lawyer shady enough to take the case.

Same here, I felt sorry for the guy a first, figured the BBC made more out of it than it was. Clarkson was right to call this whining bitch a cunt. I’d like to punch him too.

With the exception of the wheels, I think it looks pretty good.

That’s not why; ya manuals are more desirable than automatics, but the entire collector car market has gone absolutely insane. At first it was older folks cashing out their 401Ks to buy the dream car of their youth, then it took on a life of it’s own with people buying and selling rapidly and creating a “bubble”...

At all of the private or public sporting ranges I go to a clearly empty firearm broken open into a non-functional is perfectly okay. He’s pointing it away from who he’s speaking with and everyone can see its empty.

Idiots, always ruining things for the rest of us...

You’re right, its not a direct comparison and it’s not supposed to be.
What I’m saying is that I’d like to see a direct comparison be built and sold along with the cost savings.

The Cayman GT4 is certainly an exception to the rule. Love it.
That car is just too far out of my price range...

E30s are still raced in endurance races regularly. Cars with 150K to 200K on the odometer racing for 24hrs. And you don’t need a garage to fix most issues on the E30s you can do it yourself because its simple.

You’re partially correct; not many enthusiasts buy new, I know I always let someone else pay the depreciation.
That said, when the 2015s are selling “lightly used” I’ll still spend my money on something older and more fun.

Well that’s his point, I don’t care about refinement, safety and gadgets, or the stopwatch. Just a fun affordable car.

Fantastic article Tavarish; I couldn’t possibly agree more!

Wes, you’re an idiot; stop trying to look clever. This is the proper way to hold an over/under. I come to Gizmodo for tech news, not to hear ignorant nerds talk about shit they don’t understand.

Damn that’s scary.
A reminder of how dangerous racing once was. (and still is sometimes).

Shelby Cobra 427 (or authentic-ish replica).
Easy to cruise in, but very, very difficult / dangerous at speed.

Totally disagree.
