I appreciate your optimism but don't share it.
Any financial action against large CO2 producers be entirely passed on to the working class which is something they cannot afford.
The best hope is that technology is created that simply renders polluting technology obsolete.
It would need to stand on its own merits to be

Of course developing nations support this plan; it will likely benefit them at our expense.

Personally I'm not in favor of the solutions I've seen proposed.

We; first world nations, may be able to accomplish the transition.

I lean right politically; But I also accept the science.

Top Gear may survive; but they will need a whole new group, and may have to change up the format.
They cant just pretend that nothing has changed because the whole chemistry of the cast has changed.
I suspect 2016 will be a lot like American Top Gear if they don't - just a crappy imitation of the original.

I agree with you; it's just going to line the pockets of a few.
I respect what your trying to do and it might be a good investment, but as far as climate change goes, its ultimately futile.
It's a very first world solution to a problem. Even among 1st world populations, most people don't have nearly money to make a

Co2 is a small piece of a much bigger problem; that being the fact that this planet cannot support 7 billion people for very long, and it certainly can't even come close to supporting a modern industrialized lifestyle for all. The only lasting and logical solutions are far darker than a Prius, a windmill and an

The idea that they will absorb a 1% tax and not just pass it on to the common people absurd.
Even more absurd is the concept that the 1% tax revenue will accomplish anything.
I'm on your side; but honestly, we need better ideas. I suspect the main reason people on the "right" deny climate change is because every idea

I see your point; and I'm not saying that Clarkson should get a free pass; but I honestly don't see it as a big deal either. If I was on the receiving end of that I would have walked away from the belligerent attitude immediately without escalation. That's the adult thing to do. When fights escalate their are always 2

I don't think its a big deal at all; just a bit immature. He should have outgrown this behavior by his age, but at the same time I honestly have no idea how society and men have become so sensitive. It's pathetic that ever little negative human interaction requires lawyers and HR departments to blow them way out of

Same with my wife; she watched for the entertainment value, and now she loves cars almost as much as I do.

Great article Chris.

I’m going to cut Clarkson some slack on this. This isn't a 9-5 job; it's long days including what would be down-time and drinking time in a normal job. These guys spend a lot of time together, hotels and traveling constantly. Tensions rise, shit happens; apologize and move on without lawyers. It’s not a big deal.

If you're looking to buy a car to restore, focus on body, frame and paint first.
Repairing these problems are FAR more expensive and time consuming to fix and far more difficult to DIY than mechanical issues.
That's my 2 cents.

Hurts my eyes to watch; but bravo for maneuvering around the stupid video ban.

These automatics and dual clutches are faster - no doubt; but seriously I rather have the fun of driving manual; I really don't need to shave a second off my joy-ride. And if I do...I'd accomplish that with more power!

Z06 or GT4 - It's nice to have choices.

Haha - Love the Wrangler / Alfa pair!
So true; I have the Wrangler; its a great vehicle, but I always need a light an nimble sports car too. One makes me crave the other. While I can't afford the new Alfa; pairing it with a Miata or the Alfa Spider works well too and keeps the budget down.

Why would this car end up in a junk yard if the damage is as minor as it looks?
