I mean I remember the Aeris/Aerith thing being discussed on the playground back when the game was new. I think he could be aware of that but still not played it in 20-some years.

Listen to Zoë Kravitz, for she is wise.
At least on things with the GTO you could argue the covers maintain interesting styling of the front. The Mercury doesn’t even do that, lol.
I’d go so far as to say that Transformed was better than most MK releases, including 8.
Transformed was genuinely great. The best kart racer I had played in a long time.
I mean...I assumed that’s exactly what it was referencing?
Seconded.
There’s currently a rumor going around about a new one. We’ll see, though.
Capcom used to have this problem. They were disappointed in DMC4 because it didn’t sell Call of Duty numbers, and so tried that wildly ill-advised reboot which didn’t even sell as much as 4.
They managed to unfuck their expectations and started making good, successful games again, hopefully SE can follow suit.
XV was not a disaster, financially. Not even close, it was a wildly successful launch, what are you talking about? It made back it’s money in 24 hours and has sold 10 million units
They thought Tomb Raider was going to make Call of Duty numbers. They’re just dumb.
I find it highly likely that it was publisher pressure that forced that game to be Live Service.
I don’t get how it could be anything but flashbacks...even in RotS, once he was in the armor, it was no longer Christensen...so how is he supposed to show up?
It was certainly a challenge to sit through Picard.
Agreed. And I don’t think that’s really an issue with Diablo/Gauntlet, as you weren’t building a custom characters, there was just a specific character that went with each class. But I wasn’t aware of MMOs that ever did this.
See if that was the walk cycle they were going for, Ubisoft’s rationale behind not having the resources to make animation for female characters makes a lot more sense :P
When did Nilus claim a moral high ground? He just said what he did.
For sure...it’s just that this was already an homage of an homage. The games do have engaging character work, true, but their real draw is the ability to feel like you’re playing a summer blockbuster. You take out that crucial element and they become a lot more derivative...
So the making a film adaptation of games that were themselves homages to classic films was as bad an idea as we all knew it was when they first starting trying back in 2010. Who’d have thought.
Yeah my first thought when I read that was how I thought the first one was just a very refined version of established open world mechanics. As Uncharted was to third-person cover-shooters.
It’s probably more because we just had Olympics 6 months ago
