Are we not allowed to hate The Force Awakens? The acting was great (except for Adam Driver, who can definitely act in other contexts), but the concept and script were godawful.

This. There are very few non-hack uses of jump scares in media. Making you jump in response to sudden movement and loud noises isn’t scary, it’s simply startling. If you you could replace the thing doing the jump-scare with an adorable kitten and it would be just as effective, you’re a hack. Horror needs to be earned.
Nice, always enjoy seeing this game crop back up in the news. It’s still by far the best iteration of 3D Sonic since the original Genesis era.
two decades ago sexist characters were just delivery systems for sexist jokes
That gets a bit tricky since the episodes are all an hour long, which means that even with just eight they have more total minutes than the cartoon’s twenty half-hour episodes minus commercials.
Just FYI this one was one of the few 360 games I tested than ran well on a Steam Deck with the Xenia emulator. So if you have a fairly recent /decent computer it should be emulatable.
This game was the reason I bought a 360. Absolutely lovely game. I wouldn’t consider it “forgotten” though.
Look at Disney’s last live-action reboot, The Little Mermaid, which rewrote Ursula’s iconic villain song “Poor Unfortunate Souls” to remove sexist lyrics (“The men up there don’t like a lot of blabber/They think a girl who gossips is a bore,” among others). Ursula’s problematic verse was a deliberate narrative…
Everyone knows the airplane and Amelia are in the Delta Quadrant.
I hated the gear and weapon progression. And the fact that there were no secret dungeons or bosses or puzzles that dropped super OP gear.
To all the people who assured me that the merger was an undisputedly good thing… well, you were absolutely right. I’m sorry I ever doubted you.
If the severance package was *good* you can be sure they’d be loudly saying so, to try to regain some goodwill in the face of this bad press.
I’m getting that way with Crafting Mechanics in general. Final Fantasy 16 was a big offender for me of “why the heck can’t this just be me buying/finding a better sword?”
Honestly this is why IMO companies should be required to open source the server stuff and allow fans or the public to run their own servers when the company decides to shut them down. I mean I understand why the do it, but at least give the fans the option to keep them going if they want to. We are at a time where…
Yeah, you are immensely overestimating the influence this site would have had on sales in general. The average person isn’t paying the slightest attention to news sites (or blogs, in this case) or JKR in general, and the Harry Potter universe already had a massive fan base. I don’t believe Kotaku would have swung the…
Also nice to see 6 of the top 12 games being single player, and that’s not counting Diablo which is to me, mostly a single player game.
I don’t remember anyone saying no one cared, but I would expect some to say that w/ the internet being what it is. OTOH I do remember a few posters pointing out that the anti-Rowling crowd was risking boosting the game via Streisand Effect and also creating a thing for culture warriors to turn into a rallying point.
Looks cool. Since I’m getting used to the idea of owning nothing, I’ll head down to my local torrent site to check it out when my backlog is a bit lighter.
I think it was heavily implied she didn’t want much beyond his attention, to which Cloud didn’t give much, which in turn made her try even more. Wedge even makes a point to tell Cloud that it’s just a game to her.
I’m okay with it as long as they’re okay with never owning any of my money.
