I generally avoid anything with the word "Project" in the title. I have little faith in your creative writing abilities if you couldn't even get past the "coming up with a title" stage.

Yeah I generally prefer the earlier seasons, and the best later episodes are usually the ones that recall that earlier Coen-esque tone, e.g., "Crawl Space".
It started out as one, and got grimmer with each season. Just look at the episode titles; it goes from "A No Rough-Stuff-Type Deal" to "End Times" and "Ozymandias".

The problem with hard sci-fi is that it's all ideas; the writing is generally pretty bad. I remember going back to an Alastair Reynolds book after reading a bunch of literary novels and some of the prose was almost physically painful to read.
