I managed to slog all the way through Life of Pi because my colleague (who later went on to rave endlessly about other books I didn’t like) assured me it was about tog et really good. Glad to find someone else who felt the same way.

Nothing particularly absurd. I used to live next door to Nicholas Cage and he was always surly. I don’t know if it was because his first marriage was ending around then but I wanted to shout, “I didn’t ask you for anything. I live here!”
I used to live near him but only saw him once. It was about a million degrees outside with humidity dripping off the walls. The type of weather that turns you into a sweat monster in moments. He breezed past the restaurant I was in, wearing a suit and looking like he had just stepped out of a photo shoot on a balmy…
My friend was the same year in high school with his daughter and played on the basketball team. He’d go to games and was always gracious about people wanting autographs etc if she wasn’t on the court. For the most part, people were also pretty nice about not bothering him when she was.
Thank you so much for this warning! I was excited for the documentary and saving it for after I have a baby in a few weeks. Clearly, this is not something an incredibly hormonal person, cuddling an incredibly fragile tiny person should be watching.
If the menus offered in the restaurant are hand scrawled they probably aren’t online.
The rest of the food might not have been 5 star to begin with. I’d hope that rating would be reserved for a restaurant that had above-excellent food, ambiance, and service. People seem to be responding as if you start with 5 stars and then take off points for negative elements.
“We are in a women’s health crisis, and it’s impacting people’s lives and their children’s lives,” said Ovia chief executive Paris Wallace. “But it’s also impacting the folks who are responsible for these outcomes—both financially and for the health of the members they’re accountable for.”
Or just don’t put on a production requiring Black actors in a country overrun by rightwing nationalists who like to quibble about which white people are white enough to be considered people.
How dare you besmirch the good name of A&W!
The one spring break I wasn’t working, my friend and I went to London and crashed at her friend’s place. We spent the days ay museums and nights at theaters and/or pubs. We also caught up on some badly-needed sleep.
They’re all in heels for no good reason.
On the contrary, the western world seems to have a long history of literally killing ourselves for aesthetics. For example: https://pictorial.jezebel.com/the-arsenic-dress-how-poisonous-green-pigments-terrori-1738374597
Agreed. I subscribed to Gwynnie Bee when they first launched and basically everything they had available was bold prints. I felt fantastic wearing them. I could spot another Gwynnie subscribers on the street because of these prints. A few times, people stopped me to ask if I was wearing their stuff. It felt like we…
I was in 8th or 9th grade when it came out so I was the exact target demographic and loved it. This is why I was a little uneasy to watch it again a few years ago but it aged beautifully.
I didn’t like her dress either, but it was the exact right choice for that character in that time period. Bianca would have worn whatever the thing to wear was and definitely the most cutesy version thereof.
I’m glad you’re doing better now. Benzos can have solid therapeutic uses but they can be really rough.
I don’t agree that malice is the right standard to apply because it is arguable that indifference to the direct results of one’s actions is just as dangerous as malice. Also, emphasizing malice gives people too much of an out from taking responsibility for what they choose to do.
I really want to know if she chose that apostrophe or not.
Nope. It seems like a pretty spot-on take to me. Tay’lor intentionally, not accidentally, shoved someone off a 50 foot bridge. It wasn’t an accident that happened in a moment of distraction or carelessness. By the way, harming someone in one of those latter situations can also easily be the basis for criminal…
