I’d never heard enough about Wide Sargasso Sea to know it was in response to Jane Eyre, but a cursory glance makes me think I’d have enjoyed reading the former more than the latter.

I think he was initially charged for two and then later they connected him with the other three. Those three might have been too distinct in time, method, or some other element to be amended onto the original charges and would require a separate filing, which would probably get joined to the original charges later on.

Don’t get me wrong, A Light in August was awful but it was a very useful intellectual experience.

I would push back a bit on skipping Faulkner because I think I gained a lot from slogging through it with a great teacher. If made to read it alone, I wouldn’t have finished the damned thing. But by the end, I could appreciate it academically and that is what I think is worthwhile. It is useful to be able to say,

We read ‘Things Fall Apart’ and ‘Heart of Darkness’ back to back for the purpose of comparing who they described colonialism. My English teacher knew exactly what she was doing with both of them. She was fantastic.

Yup. MY son was forecasted to by enormous (he ended up merely huge) and my OB had to give me a prolonged warning about shoulder dystocia. I kept picturing Martin Sheen’s jacket whirl as she did so.

Santa Catalina?

And Dutch people really do eat them while holding the tail and covered in chopped raw onions. That along with black licorice (what the kid spits out on the bus ride) and the Dutch need to mash basically everything are why you don’t find Dutch restaurants anywhere. Only a few Dutch snackshops in the parts of Spain full

I can beat that. I saw one for $28,000 requiring an MA. A lot of domestic travel but based in NYC. Full time. If you’re getting paid $28k for full-time work, you know they’re going to be super cheap about travel and accommodations. Also, the org is entirely volunteer except for one other person, so good luck doing

It’s how Martin Sheen does it in general due to a shoulder injury. He did on camera once without thinking and the rest was history.

Yup. I would rather set up a campsite at the gate than be late.

Um , I’m pretty sure they have oat milk at my local Stop and Shop, here in NJ. Yes, the part of NJ dubbed “Brooklyn West” by the NY Times but still...Jersey.

Like IKEA, you need a game plan or you will just collapse in an overwhelmed heap. Unlike IKEA, there are no beds or couches to collapse onto.

Also, fuck anyone who would marry this guy.

Fuck the SPOA and all those officer’s associations. They have one goal to protect an officer, not matter how heinously they’ve behaved. Unless that officer speaks out against any other officer. Then it’s time to screw that guy over and make his life miserable as possible.

Just the other day, I was waxing nostalgic about A&Ws root beer floats and onion rings. Alas, I am far away from any of their locations. Boooo!

But it is so much easier to whine and be bitter on-line instead of communicating what you want with people. Honestly, this problem will sort it self out sooner rather than later.

So specify what you want instead of assuming that everyone wants to hang out with your bitter self one on one.

I just got annoyed on your wife’s behalf while reading that. Mostly because it reminded me of having to wake early or stay up to pump and my husband remained in blissfully asleep.
