Joe Morton knows how to play a character that makes a meaningful sacrifice for the good of all.

See I HATED this. It felt totally unearned. Barry just HAPPENS to get randomly hit? And then he can heal himself? Was that ever even mentioned in this movie? And then he can time travel? Like, not just a little bit, but enough to roll back the destruction of the planet?

I guess they needed something to set up the scene, but getting shot by a Parademon was really dumb. He’s the fastest man alive going at super speed, and a lone unremarkable Parademon is able to pinpoint his future location with enough accuracy to hit him point blank? Tough to suspend disbelief on that.

Agreed 1000%. This is the version of the Flash that I want to see a movie about. Not the Whedon, self-deprecating, kinda cowardly one.

Yeah this was a great moment, but I gotta wonder when and how he ran into CW Flash/Barry. What hijinks led him to that? Also, he gets his iconic name, The Flash, from CW Flash, because he casually mentioned it, and Snyder Flash hadn’t been using a name so yeah, kinda cool.

Each of his three ‘70s films are very different by design — dystopian sci-fi, nostalgic comedy, wide-eyed space opera.

For me, the most ironic part of Lucas’ career was that he became a worldwide icon for a series of films whose appeal really hinges on grandiose storytelling when the type of film in which he was most interested was non-linear and non-narrative.

In a lot of ways, George Lucas is a filmmaker’s filmmaker. I was hugely inspired by THX 1138 when I made one of my short films in college. I haven’t rewatched it recently, but I still remember many of the visuals, and the feelings I had while I watched it.

i am a big fan of re-writes of classics; tin man, the time machine, warm bodies, dark knight rises, sherlock, alice, dirk gently (both of them). so i jumped at ‘equilibrium’ coming away that it was just a re-write of ‘fahrenheit 451'. reading this though, i’m now realizing that it is a mashup of that and ‘thx 1138'.

I believe they already shaved their heads in accordance with cult practice. But yes, the story is that many of the extras were members of Synanon, a cult that started as an offshoot from AA and wound up being involved in the founding of most of the modern therapy based boarding schools for troubled teens.

Could you be more...specific?

Something that a lot of people tend to miss about Lucas is that he’s a very deliberate filmmaker. Each of his three ‘70s films are very different by design — dystopian sci-fi, nostalgic comedy, wide-eyed space opera. And a lot of the things that people take his Star Wars movies to task for (I’m including the prequels

Didn’t George Lucas get most of his extras from a cult because they were the only ones he could find willing to shave their heads?

Not to mention throwing the ship on auto-destruct at a city. Punchiness is required in that situation.

I loved that! “There goes Mom again.” Very teenager.

“It’s a meteor!” “It’s a missile!” “It’s... Dad passing out again.”

Personally I kinda hope “Clark falling from orbit” becomes a running gag on the show.

“Where’s Dad?”
::THUMP::
“Oh he’s at work”

He was attacking nuclear facilities and putting lives in danger as well as the afforementioned attempted murder. That pretty much demands punch first, questions later.

Does anyone have a gif of the Kent boys facepalming at the Council hearing?

I thought Superman punched a little too much first, and failed to ask questions later. I realize Captain Luthor tried to kill him last episode, but being told you destroyed a world, and that you’re going to destroy the one you’re trying to protect, ought to make you stop and ask questions.
