A big chunk of supervillains seem to be evil versions of the main hero. You mentioned Iron Man, but there was also the evil Hulk in the Ed Norton-starring movie, Venom basically had the same powers as Spider-Man, and even General Zod is basically just evil Superman.

"Perhaps it’s the material from which circus peanuts are made?"

Really, The Avengers is #91? I believe there were probably better films over the last 5 years, but sure not 89 of them. I know that big-budget, blockbuster movies aren't taken as seriously as other films, but Avengers was a damn good movie and i think it deserves better.

I'm with you, but I can see why they would choose Death Cab—i think more people know Death Cab. I just saw the Decemberists play over the weekend, and they are just awesome. In both of their shows i've seen, they play a handful of songs that on the album are just ok, but they just kill live.

I've never watched Mad Men, but "My Way" will always hold a special place on my personal playlists. This was my college marching band's closing song, and we played it at the end of every show.

Aw, poor Marky Mark. He has a couple of good roles. The Departed, The Fighter. Ok, so that's all i can think of. Let's be honest he's basically a poor man's Matt Damon.

You beat me to it, but that was also the first thing i thought.

Mark Wahlberg looks nothing like Ed Davis. Poor casting.

I nominate "The Bagman's Gambit" from the Decemberists. On the album, Picaresque, it was an alright song, but nothing special. Then I saw them play it live, and the energy of that song was amazing. Maybe the recording just couldn't capture the shift from the quiet verses to the impassioned chorus. After that show,

I was hoping you'd mention The Cane, even though I didn't remember anything about the episode except for the parts about Bill's cane. Pure comedy gold. That bit alone makes Hartman a legend, as if he wasn't already.

I very much enjoyed Clerks, Mallrats, and Dogma. Maybe I was just the right age at time though, as i had no interest in Clerks II and i really don't think i need to see a Mallrats sequel either.

I used to watch Jeopardy pretty regularly, but i haven't seen it at all this season (my son is at the age where he wants to be playing all the time and that involves literally chasing him around the house all evening). Because of all the Jeopardy stories here lately, i almost turned it on last night, but decided

During either one of the tournaments last year or the year before (i think it was Teens, but it might have been College), all 3 contestants went all in for Final and answered wrong. All 3 went home and it opened up an extra wild-card spot in the next round.

I'm surprised at the number of people who play certain songs or albums repeat. Hearing the same songs too many times in a row, even songs i absolutely love, will eventually drive me insane When i listen to music at work, I put my 15 or so different Pandora stations on shuffle. I like a pretty wide variety of music,

Frozen 2: The Melt Down. It can take place millions of years after the original, but somehow still feature the same characters.

Sajak is a pretty smary guy. I saw him on the Celebrity Jeopardy tournament once, and if i remember right, he pretty handily won. Of course, it's just Celebrity Jeopardy, but still.

At the end of Toy Story 2, Andy comes home from camp to find that Woody has had his torn arm repaired and that there's a new Jessie the Cowgirl and Bullseye toy there on his bed. I wonder what Andy's mom thinks about that. At the beginning of the movie she's attentive enough to know that Woody is Andy's favorite and

on the other hand, potential free microwave…

Also, Jake was a fully grown man by that time, not the child he was at the beginning of the series. He was even working as a war correspondent for the Federation news service.

I'd actually go with Sisko over Kirk. But maybe that's because i'm a dad myself, so watching his relationship with Jake over the course of the show really resonates with me. That's how i want to raise my son (though without my wife dying in a Borg attack first).
