When the Vin Diesel v The Rock battle was (still is?) going on, it was amazing to me how many people just completely ate up all of The Rock’s PR. They’re probably both egotistical, but the common narrative for some time was that Vin was basically the devil, while the Rock was the best ever.

The thing everyone seems to forget about Them is that fully half the movie appears to be a totally mundane mystery story about why a little girl is by herself in the desert and can only keep shouting “Them!” The giant ants are intended to be a shocking twist on the same level as the vampires in From Dusk Till Dawn.

I’m kinda super into this? WBN was pretty well done and I love creature features. Monstrous ants with awesome music accompanying them? You've had worse Saturday afternoons.

I hope this humbles the Rock, he makes up with Vin, and the two star in the Tango and Cash remake they’ve always been destined to make.

This would make a good double feature with "Us."

Your periodic reminder that Vin Diesel got fired off of Reindeer Games in the late 90’s because he refused to take his shirt off because, and I quote, “I only show my guns in Vin Diesel pictures.”

It kind of strange when we finally realize that Vin Diesel is the least “candyass” of this two bald guy.

Give him credit for realizing alcohol is one of the few things that could make that movie tolerable.

He really torpedoed himself over what was just an okay movie, even by his standards.

The person I feel bad about in all of this is Cavill who seemed genuinely excited to be coming back to the role, only to have everything completely dashed a few weeks later.
