Why is the Gawker network so opposed to the idea of expanding the political spectrum?

I keep hearing that a vote for a third party is a vote for trump. Why wasn’t this standard applied to Hillary in the primary. There was a fair amount of polling that showed that Sanders would be a better match up against Trump than Hillary. If defeating Trump is and has been paramount why didn’t I see people stating a

I know he lost. I don’t need to make excuses. He didn’t win. He’s not the democratic nominee and never will be. I’m not making an argument that the democratic party should drop Clinton (it’s kinda too late for that).

She wasn’t the “anointed chosen one.”

Bernie supporters are actually supporting Hillary at a higher rate than Hillary supporters did Obama in 2008 (“In June 2008, after a closely contested Democratic primary between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, 69% of Democrats who preferred Clinton said they would vote for Obama in the general election, while 16%

i live in a deep blue state. i’m not voting for neo-con lite because her supporters tell me i have some moral obligation to. your candidate has run quite possibly the worst campaign in modern memory against easily the worst candidate in presidential history. if she loses, it’s her own fault.

I don’t think so. The right has been labeling Obama a socialist for years now. The word has no meaning to most other than a general slander against liberal ideas. Just google ‘Obama Socialist’ and see for yourself.

Sure, Jeb.

By over 10 million? I thought Clinton won by over 300 billion votes?

I guess my black Ohio family memebers who are mostly voting for Stein don’t exist because Your Personal Experience TM.

look at the hillary shills already crafting their ‘blame millennials’ narrative when trump wins. fucking pathetic.

You know what though? People can shit on Bernie Bros or 3rd party voters all they want, they can talk about how fucked up a Trump presidency will be and get as outraged at the prospect of people not voting for Hillary as the safer saner option and everything but...

Likely no one will suffer under the Trump Presidency. The Wall won’t make it through congress, neither will a deportation-heavy immigration plan, and what constitutional rights has he otherwise promised to kill?

One of the things that doesn’t help is the “TOTAL APOCALYPSE” scenarios that liberals have for a Trump presidency. He isn’t much different from Richard Nixon, what with his appeals to whites and what not, and Nixon did not burn down the post WWII political order.

It’s amazing, the party line democrats are sold beholden to wallstreet that they forced in a candidate so despised by her own base that Trump is an option.

If the election were held today, Donald Trump would apparently win roughly as many electoral votes as Hillary Clinton — who held a commanding lead in early August and seemed to be closing off all possible Trump routes to 270 electoral votes.

It’s amazing that during the primaries it didn’t matter that Hillary was the only candidate that gave Trump a chance at the White House. Anointing the chosen one was more important than defeating Trump. Now everyone is acting shocked that Trump’s within spitting distance...

She literally had to be carried into the van...jesus christ you people are blind if you think it’s a conspiracy to make a story out of nothing. IT’S A BIG DEAL.

I’m a Hillary supporter (and am literally disgusted by the mere prospect of a Trump presidency), but I think it’s unreasonable to say that the media (and even the Trump campaign) putting attention on this episode is merely an attempt to “distract and detract.” The health of a presidential candidate is of legitimate

“Turning point?”
