There are far more reliable investments than real estate speculation or venture capital or BitCoin, but that doesn’t mean the companies that do it don’t exist strictly to enhance shareholder value. Being risky doesn’t mean its purpose isn’t ROI.

I didn’t say that was the only reason the writers and filmmakers were involved. But the only point of making it at all was to enhance shareholder value. If you think Disney (or Warner Brothers or Viacom or Fox) has any other purpose, you’re not only confused and myopic, but hopelessly naïve.

There was no point of the original movie apart from making money. The purpose of a corporation like Disney is to enhance shareholder value.

Not to mention that it seems like memorable villains aren’t altogether a concern for Hollywood action blockbusters. I find myself having to rake my memory to remember who the villains were in most comic and comic-like action movies. With the exception of, say, Loki, the entire MCU villain lineup is pretty forgettable.

Yeah, we’re talking about a librettist who wrote ‘night Mother, a composer/lyricist who wrote “September,” another who gave Madonna her start, and a musical that launched multiple Tony winners, including one who originated one of the Hamilton roles. Pretty stellar pedigree.
