Ever since the television industry stopped using union motion smoothers, it’s just gone to hell. Nowadays, any pimply high schooler with dreams of becoming Wes Anderson can get hired to do motion smoothing, and it’s really to the detriment of the television industry.

Actually, as much as I loved his earlier stuff, I stopped after New World and Tree of Life. I found those two so uninteresting, I haven’t seen any since.

I could certainly see “A placenta falls to the floor” being a stage direction in a Malick script. As well as “The angel closes her eeeeeeeyeyeyeeyeyeeeeeyeeeeeyes”

Also, men don’t get criticized for objectifying women. Not to any significant degree. Very few “I’ll be in my bunk” or “I’d like to euphemism her body part” comments get called out even on AVC.

The Neverending Story has a giant turtle and it’s one of the greatest fantasy adventure films of all time.

And Liam Neeson is great in Ponyo.
