Is it better to give a little bit to several organizations, or a larger amount to one organization? Is one way more effective than another?

For Refugees: UNHCR, (LIRS) Lutheran Immigrant Refugee Service

WHEDCO!!! Has a wonderful sex ed program that promotes inclusivity and Pro-choice values!

This is a great list. I’d like to add another nonprofit, International Social Service-USA, to the list. It (http://www.iss-usa.org/) is committed to supporting vulnerable children and protecting families across borders by connecting them to critical cross-border social services.

Donate, and if you can, set up recurring monthly donations instead of one-offs. It’s incredible useful for non-profits to know they have a certain amount of regular cash coming in, and allows them to plan the middle to long term.

I think it might be helpful to post a couple counseling groups as well. I know I’m feeling a bit down and there are women who are feeling quite depressed this day. Some counseling sites could use the donations and some folks could use the the support right now. Thanks.

Another very good one is HIAS, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.

Consider adding Lambda Legal to your list. LGBTQ advocacy org.

I also want to include Black Women’s Blueprint, which is providing on the ground support and grassroots organizing to survivors of sexual violence.

Thanks for this. For those of us in complete despair today, it helps. (Not much, but I’m grasping at straws here.)

Please, please consider local forensic medical organizations - in DC its the District of Columbia Forensic Nurse Examiners (DCFNE)

My friend has made this cool resource today, and it’s growing as we speak. It contains a lot of local, grassroots organisations and if you’re feeling powerless and alone, you may wish to add to it, or to use it to guide your action in the wake of all of this.

You can also donate to local equivalents of some of these. Like I know my local rape crisis center can use the support.

Americans United for Separation of Church and State

Thanks, I just signed up to volunteer for Border Angels — something I’ve should’ve done a long time ago.

Can you do an article that highlights stores/banks/restaurants that we should be supporting? I don’t want a single of my hard earned dollars to go to a Trump supporting business.

I now know what I’m going to tell my parents when they ask me for christmas suggestions.
