I suggested that to Mack Astin. He said, “From your mouth to the producers’ ears!”
Well, if it is the last one, it’s a great one to go out on.
Queued up before the cull. The intent was indeed to leave out of solidarity, so you can imagine my frustration when it got bumped to a run date that was after everyone else from the old guard had already left the building. That said, I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised to see that the piece ended up being…
for a second I thought we’d lost another great character actor; glad to see he’s still around, still teaching at JHU (!), and full of great stories.
The COVID season threw a lot off, but I do think those isolated scenes at the cabin were the best possible showcase for both John Huertas as an actor and Miguel as a character. I think I felt his death more than William’s, because despite William’s backstory, Miguel felt like a more human character — as a premise, he…
“He moved to the United States when he was still a kid.”
Someone hasn’t found Mumble Mode over in the cheats menu...
I finally found one of the bosses in Elden Ring! He immediately plastered me, but hey, there he is. Seriously though I’m loving the game- I’m doing a lot of stealth exploration, only getting in fights I’m confident in for the most part (except for the occasional time I screw up royally), and while I don’t have a ton…
Also, there’s apparently an option somewhere in the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga menus to replace the voice acting with the classic Lego Star Wars “mumble.”
It’s been a pretty big gaming week for me. It started off with buying myself a Passover present, one that I’m roughly 4 years behind the curve on:
While I appreciate the mention of the greatest cast member in the show’s history, and even a mentionof one of his characters, I wish you could have gotten the spelling right. It’s “Aykroyd”.
I got to experience the total joy and honor of directing (and killing) Mr. Kaufman for the blu-ray opening for my own Troma film - Slimed - back in 2019. He was super nice, game to do crazy shit and hilarious. Visiting the Troma headquarters and filming this will always be one of my life’s highlights. Bless Troma,…
I’m continually amazed nobody has thought to cast him as Mel Brooks in anything.
I had one line in Return to Nukem. Spent the day with Lloyd & he could not have been nicer. We shot my scene in the basement at Troma in Queens. I botched the scene a dozen times & he never lost patience or became upset. Wonderful experience.
I have the PS3 also still, and I agree that the step from a PS2 to Ps3 is probably more noticeable than PS3 to PS4 or even PS5. Because the PS3 has a hard disk and HD resolution, those were big jumps from before. Framrates and loadtimes and textures get better of course from now on, but nothing as fundamentally big…
The PS5 more than justifies its existence on framerates alone. Sure, a lot of PS3 games still look pretty good, particularly in a snapshot, but anyone who thinks going from 30fps to 60fps (or more if you have a very new TV) is no big deal probably has the vision of a mole; once you’re used to the upgrade, going back…
I think the jump from PS3 to PS5 will be significantly different. I’m on Xbox with the Series X. The load times are lighting fast. It takes me 20 seconds to get into Forza Horizon 5. My Xbox One took me two minutes to load into Forza Horizon 4. Lighting, shadows, water and fire effects look better as well.
It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these. Beat Guardians of the Galaxy a few weeks ago. As someone who read the source material before the first movie came out (particularly the Abnett & Lanning run on GotG), it was clear the developers did their homework....which sometimes worked against carrying-over concepts…
I’m going to continue to make headway on Forbidden West this weekend if it kills me. I want it off my plate so I can get to the free Returnal DLC, which I am so so so fucking pumped for.
And then next month, AS WE ALL KNOW AND ARE EXCITED FOR, there’s The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe which I have, ironically (or…
