I was enjoying the show just fine, but the ending of Season 2 (starting with Johnny’s speech about the town to his old friends) was where I really fell in love with it.

Roland going from primary antagonist to friendly village idiot was maybe the best decision in a show that got a lot of decisions right.
(Almost all of the secondary roles are well cast and well acted too.)
It’s pleasant enough but inessential through most of the first season, and then it becomes something more as the characters deepen and the show figures out that it needs to dial back Chris Elliott like 60%.
It clicked for me towards the end of season 10. Maybe episode 9 or 10. I ended up really loving it.
I am looking forward to this show because I hear it’s a little bit Alexis
Lack of respect means there is no future.
On the other hand, will extremely droll puns from Punch magazine circa 1900 ever get old?
I don’t know anything about Anya Taylor-Joy, but I was optimistic when she was announced as the finale host, because SNL has not had a new finale host since 2007 (Zach Braff), Having a new person host means less baggage and the potential to get the cast in a more central role. Fortunately, that happened tonight, and…
He needs to host one day.
She’s also about to star in George Miller’s Furiosa prequel, so you can probably pencil “action goddess” into her CV, too.
He went on to make a Decimal system to classify books in that library.
.... maybe it’s spanish?
This was a surprisingly good episode. Anya Taylor-Joy was a fantastic host, and I have only ever seen her in The VVitch (which was really good, btw) so I had no expectations. But she is a stunningly beautiful woman that has impeccable comic timing so SNL should just start booking her for every season now. (Alternate…
They remind me of Cub quite a bit.
I don’t believe there were any actual Donnas in The Donnas...
In my day, you named your band Boston because you were from Boston. Kids these days name their band Linda Linda when they don’t even have any Lindas.
As a children’s librarian I love this for a ton of reasons. Obviously the library connection is one of them, and social consciousness in young folks is always great to see, but honestly the biggest is that my job has let me see a lot of kid performers, and (with no offense at all to the enthusiasm of the ones who are…
I pretty much live on the internet and had not heard of this phenomenon until this post, for which I am grateful because it gave me a soundtrack for a bit.
