Or toss their vote to a third party (or write in) with no chance of winning.

Anti-abortion folks ascribe to the notion (voiced by Trump) that women are gleefully “ripping babies” from their womb, days before birth, for kicks. The real stories of women who have made the painful decision to abort at later trimesters negate that idea completely, but the anti-abortion leaders keep that narrative…
Ah, the good Republican everyone wishes had won the GOP primary.
I would never disparage a soldier who fought in the war, because once you’re there, you have to stay alive and help keep your friends alive. That seemed to be what most Viet Nam vets talked about: a focus on the immediate. They all knew the war itself was fucked. There was never going to be a US victory and they just…
As a teenager in the 1970s I had a fairly well thought out plan to escape to Canada if I was to be drafted for the Viet Nam war. I lived in Connecticut and my dad had a Ford truck with like a forty-gallon gas tank. Plenty of gas to head due north on I-91 and then take a side trip to one of the small roads that were…
False flag against the protesters or false flag against the pipeline company?
Let’s hope it wasn’t sabotage (or a false flag sabotage). Or a double agent false flag twist with a back flip...
That’s an article written weeks ago, before the CIA allegations. And “hacking” refers to both the theft of Dem emails and donor lists (and their release during the campaign) as well as the theoretical hacking of voting machines. The CIA allegations have more to do with the former than the latter.
Yes, Autopen is what I was thinking of. I saw one demonstrated a million years ago on a trip to DC. I had that confused with the linked signing thing, which was invented by Jefferson.
Forgive me. Sometimes I’m just all keyed up for an argument. I should have asked if it was sarcasm first.
In that a rising tide lifts all boats, of course. But voting to help others first is always in your best interest. That’s the whole point of being a progressive. But try to teach that to the JillB4Hill or BernieOrBust crowds and the logic is lost on them.
Fuck my best interest. I should vote for the person to fuck over the fewest number of my fellow citizens. I should vote for the person least likely to destroy my country and start World War III, even if it means I personally pay higher taxes or don’t get everything I want passed into law.
They may have hurt Clinton, since she must be devastated, and they certainly hurt Clinton supporters, but they also hurt, literally, everyone in America who isn’t a millionaire. Good job! I guess.
Thanks. I was rounding up to avoid posting a number that was too low.
I really believe some people on the left prefer to be the out-of-power opposition, rather than govern. Governing takes compromise. Trump as president gives these folks eight years of marching and Facebook-liking and sign waving.
Bullshit. The differences between Clinton and Trump were clear. The dangers were known. It is our responsibility as voters to vote in the best interests of our country, not wait around for someone to tickle our fancy or speak deeply to our personal beliefs. Sometimes you just have to be a grown up and do what’s best…
Hacked and released by the Russians with Trump’s encouragement. Never mind that all the emails showed was the behind the scenes strategizing of a political campaign.
I am against the idea that somehow candidates have to earn our votes personally. The people of Wisconsin knew damn well the differences between Trump and Clinton and it was their duty (as voting is all of our duties, not our whims) to vote for Clinton. It’s not like their differences weren’t clear.
