I’m honestly amazed the frame has enough structural integrity that it actually stays straight and isn’t bent between the cab and the bed.

Desert sand formations tend to grow very slowly and in areas with very little rain like Death Valley, can be preserved intact for centuries or longer. Though not as spectacular as other natural formations they contain valuable information relevant to fields like geology and climatology because they function as time

The boulder got knocked 30 feet away?  She really was stoned!

Toyota totally has the guts to bring back the MR2. The problem is that BMW and Subaru don’t have a mid-engine car to build it from.

Likely story. Jason - and all of Jalopnik - has been in the pocket of Big Otter Jizz for years now.

GM is literally the poster child for corporate inertia and design by committee so yes, they only succeed on volume, not quality and will always poorly execute the least best plan. They have occasional glimpses of maybe not genius but at least strong competence but generally these are fucked over by penny pinching and

If it was released today it would be known as just a kind of ugly crossover.

I think the Aztek kind of looks like a modern car now.

I would argue that GM absolutely takes risks but they have historically murdered their own products before they can properly develop. GM developed a viable, promising electric car years before its competitors.

The thing with the Fiero was, by the time they finally got it right nobody wanted one anymore.  Yet another classic example of a good idea ruined by poor execution.

I will blame you if this happens!

GM has taken a bunch of risks. Their problem is when the going gets tough, they fold and cancel. Look at the Fiero. Once they updated it into a decent car, they canceled it. Look at the Solstice. My guess is that the mid-engined vette won’t last too many years like those two other cars because it’s too impractical

So, if the lawsuit proceeded, it would have been called...

It just suddenly occurred to me is that what we are looking at is a leak of the new Bronco. I didn’t recognize it with it’s top off.

That would only triple the weight.

Honestly, I’d rather have “traditional” automakers go the exact opposite direction from being a tech company. Stop trying to put stuff in dashboards and just have a damn data port. Everybody buying a new car likely already has a smartphone, we don’t need a throbbing digital tumor jammed in.

Wait..I thought we were all supposed to like and want pensions?

Ex BMW owner here. I still think they drive amazingly, and are generally good cars. But as they got more complicated, repair bills got more expensive. It got to a point, that I’d bring good donuts and coffee for the service department to make sure they were in a good mood (it worked).

He’s only yelling at the Cloud because that’s where he stored all his important photos, and now they’re not there anymore.

The past couple years has seen Jalopnik staff carry negativity and sarcasm towards GM, Tesla, and other big brands especially when they try to innovate with new features and concepts.
