By saying adaptations should make changes for the sake of making changes then that means the source material is poor and you’re a better writer so be grateful of these changes.

For me the finale had the opposite effect and lost all my good will they built specifically because of how they implemented the Flood.
The first movie covers roughly half the book. The back half roughly corresponds with the second movie. But divorcing them really undermines the themes of the novel. It’s a quite clever deconstruction of the hero’s journey. What happens after the hero descends to the underworld and secures the boon and returns to the…
The differences are huge. The book presents Bastian (the human boy) and Atreyu (the imaginary hero) as mirrored halves. The first movie shows essentially only half the book. The rest of Bastian’s journey is missing. Not only is that material missing, but the filmmakers ignored the entire literary device (the…
I’ve never read the novel so how different is the original movie? Was Ende’s hate warranted?
Is it actually an early ending? I don’t think anyone really expected anything less. If anything, the two season order should help fix some of the pacing issues from the first season.
Not like you were giving it much press before
There were some enjoyable moments to the show, but there just wasn’t enough there for you to be emotionally invested in anything, which led to a lot of padding. For a show with ‘Brothers’ in the title, they kept the family apart far too often, as if the writers themselves didn’t really believe in the core…
They’re not really saying no to Michelle Yeoh, they’re saying no to more The Brothers Sun, which was.. fine.
I can see how a mind-controlling manipulator who clearly takes too much pleasure in the control he has over his young female “students”could be problematic though.
I mean he didn’t die on screen for the same reason we don’t see Louis get blown up on screen: too expensive.
Yeah, I get the sense the author’s view has more to do with his preexisting beliefs about the movie, more than anything he actually gathered from the photos. The movie was extensively reshot, has been in development forever, and is based on a game series that is past its prime, so there are lots of reasons to expect…
I also consider myself to be a Borderlands fan. These photos look about like what I was expecting. It’s not clear from the article why they disappointed you. The vibe of the solo shot is “Lilith has an attitude,” which we all knew. And the vibe of the group shot is, “There’s something in that hole.” They’re not the…
The reason why Mando doesn’t take his helmet off is because it’s a cultural thing. There is no reason for Master Chief to never take off his helmet. His helmet comes off a lot in the secondary material.
It’s such a big deal because the people who are whining about it have never read any of those secondary material.
I don’t remember if she got the tracker when she first came to the pirate place but the last time we saw her in the previous season she was teleported into some Forerunner area that we haven’t been told about yet.
Now THAT is silly.
Though it stumbled at times, I appreciated its attempts to flesh out characters like franchise lead Master Chief John-117, expand upon well-established Halo lore,
I’d say they destroyed his character, but that’s dramatic, especially given that Chief in the books is a big ole soft boy like Chief in the show and he has his helmet off frequently in the books too. Making Chief fussy was the issue, and I’m not saying that because I had a problem with him questioning orders or having…
I mean.. you could also just enjoy something that’s not very good, and understand why many were disappointed. As a horror movie fan, I enjoy lots of objectively bad movies. But hey, I’m obsessed with being the cool guy who -likes- everything. :P
