Welp, I got what I wanted for Christmas.

Roadblasters, Spy Hunter, Outrun and Chase HQ are on there, I’m satisfied.

Yeah, I’ve been wondering this too. I’m getting flashbacks of every game being like MGS4 - new area, 20 minute wait.

NMS is a perfect example of why we should be yelling “this sucks”in every article loud enough for Bethesda to hear it. That game has improved so so much, and I’d love to see 76 be in a similar place in a year.

Flash memory is nowhere near as cheap as a disc, and as we head into the 4k graphic era the size of games is going to increase substantially again. That additional cost would absolutely be pushed down to the consumer.

No one wanted to love TLG more than I did but it really wasn’t exceptional considering the wait. I genuinely couldn’t figure out why it had such a long dev cycle since it still FEELS like a PS2 game controller/camera/AI-wise. The core story/concept/etc are as wonderful as ICO but the fact the gameplay isn’t much more

Yep, my backlog is all cheap stuff, things I picked out of clearance racks and discount sales in stuff because odds are in many cases prices’ll go up down the line.

I love it, I suggest DOP (Drink this Over Pabst), as Pabst is pretty much the replacement player of beers :D

If I understand the legalese correctly (and I probably don’t!), Weird Al should be protected by parody law?

When I first heard they were putting ads in the game I figured “eh, they’ll be on the loading screens, or maaaaybe on in stage billboards, like a nod to the old “fake brand” advertisements you used to see in arcade games (ie racing games), but with real ads, It’ll be a bit tacky but eh, how bad can it be?”

No one knows WHAT the Raiders will be playing next season either, but I suppose we should focus on one issue at a time.

I absolutely LOVE Time Soldiers. It’s the most tropey, 80s action movie in video game form. It’s the one game that genuinely needs a Hollywood adaptation staring The Rock.

Clearly enough that they feel their pursuing the best strategy for them going the route they are and spending the time and money shutting down ROM sites.

Key phrase there was OLDER platforms. The VGS lawsuit was filed while the Playstation was Sony’s current console, and ended in 2001, early in the life of the PS2. And I honestly don’t think they cared if they won or lost, the lawsuit prevented VGS from being SOLD til the PS2 got a foothold. I’ve always suspected that

Primary among them the fact that Sony’s really never done much vs emulation/ISO piracy of their older platforms. Unlike Nintendo they pretty much look the other way on that.

I refer to RPO as I Understood That Reference: The Movie.

I’m torn between “lol Sony didn’t even half-ass this, it’s like quarter-assed” and “Okay they KNEW it was trash and the games were garbage and this is a deliberate wink and nod”.

Counterpoint, they also developed the Unreal engine, base of dozens, if not hundreds of worthwhile games.

Lag is lag, that sucks but it’s not entirely Nintendo’s fault (fair accusations of badly optimized netcode aside), but the fact the mulitplayer interface is STILL worse than stuff I used to play on my freakin Dreamcast is just completely inexcusable.

I had no rooting interested in this game, other than I wanted an entertaining football game to watch. After everything the league’s done to cripple defenses, and the “lol defense is dead” Rams/Chiefs game a few weeks ago, it made me smile to see the Bears channel their 1985 counterparts and prove that good defense is
