Part of me wants that shirt just because it’s so completely. ludicrously absurd, and part of me wants to punch me in the face for that.

Really wish I could give this more than one star.

I really loved 1 and 2 back in the day and have been casually following the drama about this coming out.. this is the version from the original creators, right?

Just finished my replay of Valkyria Chronicles (Remastered this time), before 4 comes out next week. Haven’t played that since it came out, forgot just how good that game is. Thinking of maaaaybe giving the second one (which I couldn’t get into originally) another try since I have a week to kill.

welp, sushi rolls ruined forever.

My one experience with telltale was the Back to the Future game. Storyline was pretty decent - not great (mostly because very few, to any, of the choices made any difference), but fun, but the gameplay alternated between “rock stupid obvious” and “jesus this is a sierra game and that was intolerably vague/bad design

I feel that pain. My childhood dog I had from about 2 to 14 or so (and best friend I ever, or will ever have), passed away similarly. I dropped in after school to visit (my grandparents took her earlier in the day), and as I was leaving we heard this unearthly noise I will never forget, like a friggin banshee wail.

Ough, that post broke me too. :(

That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that story, but it sure sounds true (and hilarious), knowing Belichick

That makes a lot of sense (and is interesting!) I love reading about the early days of soft piracy/creative ways to get gaming into other regions. That seems to have been very common in markets that didn’t have official divisions of the console maker, and some of the Famiclone stuff is fascinating (like your 76 in 1

Yeah, those Goku sneakers there look pretty dope. I don’t think I could pull them off, but I like’em

The official Capcom ROM for the Mega Drive/Genesis contains Championship and Turbo. I know there was at least one pirate version of SF2 on that platform and an unfinished Capcom version made by a different (IIRC 3rd party) dev team though. It’s possible it could be one of those.

My cousin and I discovered this, or something similar, under the subtitle of “Red Wave Edition” instead of Championship Edition (with the SFII’ title in all red) in Canobie Lake Park in NH back in about 92 or 93. We were completely baffled by it (and how the park got it) and figured it must have been some sort of

It’s G.I Jetson against light breeze and small rocks

Zelda’s Adventure started life as a VASTLY more ambitious game. Huge swaths of it were cut to get it completed and shipped, due to expenses and to just how terrible the CDi hardware was. That could have actually been a good game in the hands of a team with decent hardware and a budget.

While I respect Squeenix pushing out all this post release content, I have no desire to keep cycling back to a long campaign/story based game every few months (and trying to remember it/wtf I was doing), so I have no desire to buy or play it til it’s done, at which point I’ll drop 30 bucks or whatever on that final

I remember my jaw just absolutely hitting the floor watching that intro when I bought MGS on release day 20 years ago. This is a GAME?!? How far technology has come.

Wow. I bought NMS on launch and wound up really disappointed with it. NEXT brought me back and very much feels like the game I expected. I’m genuinely impressed that Hello Games continues to try to do right by their customers and putting out all this stuff for free. Lot of companies would wash their hands of it or

I’m hoping the convo between execs after the success of Mania basically went something like this:

Nono, the worst part of that is the MASSIVE, no save point/no escape dungeon before Cloud of Darkness’s massive level/difficulty spike surprise. I blew through that game in a 3 day hospital stay on my PSP, took me like another week to work up the effort to grind and redo that dungeon. <_<
