You never know! I hatched 5 chicks last Spring and they are still happy little hens laying eggs in my backyard right now. They just gobbled up the fresh herb scraps I brought them this morning.

**Crazy chicken lady here** I have a dozen or so pet chickens that we raise for their eggs.

We also have 2 Buff Orpingtons...Nugget and Amelia Egghart. Smart and sweet, they are an amazing breed! Lots of chicken love from them. 

Aww...Buff Puff! We have a light Brahma named Goose (she honks instead of clucks) and she follows you everywhere like a puupy. Our cats dig her too (this is her baby picture🐣).

People do dye chickens different colors. It’s a thing. You can also get your dog’s fur dyed at PetSmart in their grooming section (note: they will NOT dye your dog to look like a skunk, unfortunately).

No worries! Totally agree about the caged birds:) Our chicken free range our fenced yard most of the time but right now, for their own protection, we have to limit their time until right before dusk. Hawks are migrating, and those fuckers already killed my favorite hen and I don’t want to lose any more. Plus there is…
