It’s insane to me that the direction they took the series is so painfully generic and nearly identical to everything else at the moment.

I understand the appeal but you can do this without purchasing the game on Steam. If you add a non-Steam executable to Steam it will automatically launch both the launcher needed and the game you want to play (most of the time anyways. This is the case at least for EA and Ubisoft games in my experience).

But you’re not. You’re keeping your entitlement on Steam but Steam will still require you have a Origin Account and run Origin every time you run the game.

I know it’s common for people to do so but I’ll never understand why people purchase EA or Ubisoft games on Steam. It just locks you into opening two seperate launchers just to launch one game and is way more likely to cause more issues because of that.

Yeah I’m honestly surprised it took them this long to issue a statement. I still remember logging in on day 1 and running into 3 specials in the span of the first 5 minutes and thinking something had to be bugged.

The only statement that’s explicitly listed in this article would be more less if people played Half Life : Alyx and just said ‘It’s Portal without the puzzles’

Also I’m a little confused on why they have to be completely detached from any established franchise since the game you’re holding up as the be-all end-all is based around the most established franchise in all of gaming.

Ironically ‘Kart Racer’ is a completely original IP to the best of my knowledge and has had a substantial player base over the 17 years it’s been available in one iteration or another. It doesn’t have much of a foothold in the States, that’s pretty evident, but it’s got a ton of interest overseas.

Cannot wait until they add some kind of in-game propaganda to Fortnite for this and everyone gets to realize maybe their whole ‘fight for the little guy’ narrative against Apple they plugged the shit out of in Fortnite was actually a horrifying move on their part.

I know yours is the ‘popular take’ but there are absolutely kart racers that do more interesting things and/or are more enjoyable than most Mario Kart titles.

As someone how treats PoGo as almost an entirely walking/idle game (I just keep an autocatcher on me at all times) I love the idea behind this. PoGo is great and all but a lot of what it’s about is driving you to go to a specific place and stand around a bunch of other people staring at your phone.

People tend to give IllFonic more credit than they deserve because they’re clearly well intentioned and fans on the licenses they work with.

Any word on if performance was improved or if a performance mode was added? Outside of adding a photo mode and a suspend feature there isn’t much information but I’d assume more was done for it to be considered a large ‘2.0' patch.

As long as you can appriciate it for what it is and don’t mistake ‘I didn’t like it as much as everyone else seems to and here’s why’ with ‘I didn’t love it so therefor I hate it’ it’s all good.
