My youngest used to have severe separation anxiety. We got through it, but now he is 9 and regressing.

Have you assigned a phone number to your Facebook account and then used that phone number to text the person?

Yeah, like many others commented, I say “Okay?” as a way to confirm they heard me. I’m not asking for permission or consensus, and they don’t think I am. I get them to say “Okay!” because then there’s a verbal understanding and to preempt any “Oh, I didn’t hear you say that” bs.

Whoa, me likey. This is a really engaging style.

Ultimately you don’t want to create an unhealthy situation, but it’s up to the parents to decide what that is. You can love and support your kid without allowing them to dictate your social interactions.

It’s more like “We have an older show that people love that no longer fits our existing ad:content model. We can either edit the show to fit the model, or not use it at all. Speeding it up by a small fraction is preferable to removing entire scenes to make it fit.”

In my case it’s a combination of several things:

They can get some notoriety and free press this way. Maybe even a little sympathy for being “crushed” by the big faceless corporation.
