I just fell down the same rabbit hole in the U-T’s comment section, which I’ve long known has been one of the worst online communities, but I looked anyway.

So many of them are like “see liberals, you want to ban knives now?” (in response to the UC Merced story).

Shooters seem to be the only demographic in this country that are active. Good for them, staying active is a large part of living a healthy lifestyle.

What amazes me is that people don’t see that that argument basically amounts to saying “men are such uncontrollable, violent a-hats that we can’t trust them not to use this particular ordinance/opportunity to do what a significant number of them secretly want to do, which is sneak into bathrooms to assault women or…

ALSO.

Somebody needs to sue CVS. Clearly the magical barrier that keeps rapists out of women’s restrooms has fallen out of warranty.

It’s almost as if refusing to protect trans people didn’t stop straight men from going into womens’ restrooms to assault children there.

Is this an irony test?

They should just name their lineup Hyundai Genesis, MegaDrive, Master System, Saturn, Neptune, 32X, CD, and Dreamcast while they’re at it.

I really want to see the market research that’s serving as the driver behind all these alphanumeric naming conventions.
