i didn’t say it was anywhere near being a perfect idea (nor would it ever be implemented — case in point: cruel & unusual punishment), it’s more of a “put up or shut up” kinda thing. i assume most families of victims who are in favor of retribution would crumble at the prospect of having to kill the convict(s)…

if a family of a victim is so hellbent on the “eye for an eye” thing, then let them have their way with the convict, not the state.
