actually, it has quite a lot to do with the US, just not in an immediatly direct sort of way.

but the Commies playing this very dangerous game effects numerous American allies, as well as the safe operation of civilian shipping.

so if you honestly think a threat to the American and world Economy is “none of our

one of two things.

either the exact same thing that happened here, OR a worst case scenario someone behind a launcher decided to send a flat top to the bottom of the sea early.

i stand corrected on the 3.8, which makes that motor all the sadder (i could forgive its shittyness were it foreign but come ON chyrsler)

as for specifics, i dunno id have to ask. and being 5 in the morning here, its not a pressing issue. granted you mentioned using Nitrous, so can i really take your advice on that one?

because several people i know (father included) ARE MECHANICS! forget long term reliability the penestar has issues with its short term reliability already. now its world better than the steaming piles of dogshit that the Mitsubishi sourced V6’s were (the 3.8 being an example) but crap is still crap at the end of the

no, its expensive because its expensive. if you want to make the comparison again, a top spec XJ is still cheaper (slightly yes) than a 2 door basic wrangler.

anyone who recommended a malise era americna product is a damned fool, there it would have been completely safe to go foreign (and should have). doesnt change

for what you get? 23 to 27 is pretty damn expensive starting. thats for the most basic offroad guts, you cross the 40 line for the serious offroad kit.

secondly, the penestar engine is DOG-SHIT compared to the 4.0 AMC. ask any mechanic who works on one which is the better motor.

fun fact, the 4 door JK was the first

i honestly feel bad for the engineer team here.

they didnt design the KL, and they certainly didnt want it. but FCA dumped it on them and ordered them to do what they could with it.

and i know the engineers get it, ive SEEN what they put together for Moab. its just say they were schackled with such a turd

its that literal inability to lift that gets me.

i forget which company tried it, but the Aftermarket managed to only get ONE inch lift from the platform, and doing so was so expensive they couldnt even sell the kit

to answer a few questions, yes that was the brand new trailhawk.

as to why a new true Cherokee? because the 4 door JK is fucking enormous and extremely expensive even in its most basic form.

what would sell like crazy would be a smaller, cheaper, but still capable SUV as a direct descendant of the XJ

thats because they were!

and its also EXTEMELY expensive, even in base model form. even brand new the XJ was reasonable, capable, and easy to modify.

nothing like this exists in the lineup anymore

because they could transfer the KL over to Dodge, keep making money with the soccer mom contingent and then refill a niche they left years ago with the death of the XJ, in that they offer a semi civilized 4 door SUV.

the wrangler partially fills this now, but it rides like shit. offering a new XJ might canabalize some

its better than its competition, this much i will give it. but that doesnt make it good in the context of its history.

it will always be a car thats been pushed to its utmost limitations and has zero room for any serious wheeling upgrades.
its so tapped out that there is no economical way to lift it, and even then the

hence the “dramatically” improves comment.

though a winch is a nice touch

you are correct

actually, the KL isnt really much better on gas than a Stick XJ.

and Nissian is notorious for awful MPG

i dont think there was a specific trim level you could order, but if my memory serves you could build your basic equivelent by going through the parts cateloug

it wasnt Jeep that walked away from it, it was that Dorctor Z douchebag that was running the company when Diamler owned them.

despite its age, the XJ up to its death was a hot seller. and while times have changed i firmly believe there is still a place for such a vehicle in the Jeep lineup.

its all a part of my master

its not just a poor platform, its basically an impossible platform to modify with anything that dramatically improves its offroad performance

This right here so elegantly shows just how different the idea behind each vehicle is.

while the XJ was designed to be a light SUV, and while many people screamed upon its launch, at its core it has always been a Jeep. the KL was, and always be a car wearing shoes too big for its chassis to handle when the trail gets
