It is really crazy, and you hit on an interesting point that people on the right are so fanatic about defunding Planned Parenthood, but devote zero attention to programs that would impact families who go through with pregnancies and keep the babies. It is something I will never understand.

The limits are SO SO SO low for maximum income in my state. If you’re a single parent and you have one child you are no longer eligible after 3500 gross. After taxes that is $2600. If you have an infant you’re looking at anywhere from 800-1200 depending on the quality. It is insanity.

They are absolutely true. Plus all of the licensing fees, insurance and other incidentals that pop up. Trust me, no one who runs a child care is a profiteer looking to pull the wool over anyone.

It’s not common practice to make child care free for employees of the same branch or chain. The most I’ve seen is a 50% discount which I’ve only seen once. I work for a large national non profit that also does child care and the cost of preschool is in the thousands of which I would get a 20% discount.
