In the UK this is not the case. Insurance companies are tied to a national database and you also have to confirm these details when applying/paying for mandatory annual road tax. Police forces have number plate recognition that automatically scans cars and pops this data up.

I was driving with a friend back in the nineties and I will admit we were somewhat boy racer (ish) and he was caught speeding, not excessively but he was still speeding on a country lane with no other cars about.

I am sure when we shifted from the horse to the car, liveries and farriers couldn’t wait to report on the first fatal collision with these wheeled iron monsters. This is no different, you can’t halt progress and there will unfortunately be more fatalities on the way but hopefully statistcally less than human drivers.

It kind of reminds of that story where a guy drives a Citroen 2CV into the desert, it breaks down (because Citroen) and he turns it into a motorcycle right there in order to get home:

Rover P6 agrees:

Does this count as an old truck yet?

Angry or hangry?

If he was truly ‘saving’ them that number would be zero.

I assume you have been to Canada. It’s slightly larger but with what? A fifth of the population. It doesn’t get more remote than rural Canada.

See, this looks great and somehow to absolutely maximise cargo space. What are the sight lines like on that ‘sticky outy’ bumper on the front of the Turkish concept. This looks good and probably is good although I am sure design costs money.

In Canada these days it’s all Ford Transit Connects. How specific could these needs be that they need a tailored solution just for the US?

The thinking man’s Fiat Multipla.

Not to mention the compomoto option:

How about a Honda you don’t want:

Also, Vauxhall/Opel Frontera:

There is a great bunch of stories from BMW engineers after they purchased MG Rover. Assembly line Defenders being pushed off production lines for the dealers to fix. They put an MGF in the same water penetration booth as their then Z3 had to go through and it ended up like a bath tub.

I feel like the EU is moving into a more prescriptive set of regulations as companies and consumers simply do not want to take the intitiative or expense of potential change.

I get that it’s difficult to do a real word test of emmisions and mpg. So many variables go into it.

Is the Lexus tagline, “Experience Amazing” supposed to encourage you to buy a Lexus or for you to go elsewhere?

I really do love this car.
