You have got to see this clip from Police Squad, the joke hit’s you right at the end:

I am half asleep and I clicked on this article hoping to see a case being made for a Pikes Peak Electric Micra and I was all over it. This article wasn’t that but I didn’t come away disappointed.

I always thought that the Austin Gipsy was the most obvious LR doppelganger and it was made right on their doorstep:

Having grown up and lived in the UK for 30 years I moved to Calgary 12 years ago and it was a real wake up call. The UK is far from perfect but just a few quirks in Canada:

Pretty sure that’s a Daihatsu Terios dude.

Despite issues with head gaskets and what not, Subaru is top of the list. After that, any Honda or Toyota with 4WD.

It’s part of F1. There’s always been teams that are either crap despite lack of trying (like Williams became a few years ago) and those simply there to make up the numbers, just doing the minimum to keep their slot warm due to their inherent value. Haas are definitely the latter although there was a time when they

I cannot believe how bad the pictures are in this article. It’s like you bought a disposable camera, took some random shots and prayed some were good enough to use when they came back from the one hour kiosk.

It is subtle but I really like that the diameter of the lights is larger than the grille. I imagine it would have been easy and tempting to make make the grille larger and have it encompass the entire light but I’m happy they resisted.

I just want to say I’m disappointed:

I agree 100% with this. I have had multiple Miatas over the years and they are great but my S2000 may be the best car I have ever owned (and I have owned a lot of cars).

I was finally able to get an S2000 in 2019 (looked for one for years but all my budget could afford were modified ones so I ended up in a Boxster).

I would say that the only thing that constitutes a car being the ‘same’ after restoration or gradual repair is the VIN plate.

Trust me, drivers who camp in the left lane is one of my worst peeves but I don’t think it’s relevant to this situation at all, even if they were.

I kind of think this thinking helps make a case for why Autopilot sucks. In 99% of incidences like this the norm is to have the driver react to avoid an incident. The original tweet is praising the car for doing ‘something’ to react and actually not doing it very well.

As with a lot of these things, there isn’t enough info to make a proper judgement, but I would say we know:

I couldn’t agree more. How did this article end up getting written the way it did based on the info in it?

Alternative fuels will be great for being able to enjoy ICE cars once zero emissions becomes mandatory but in terms of technology today it seems like a bit of a cul-de-sac.

Mitsubishi, Toyota and Nissan all started out building their own versions of FIATs, Austins and even Chryslers. The first BMW car was based on the Austin Seven design made under license.

Agreed, I don’t know what about this car is retro at all.
