Who would have thought I would ever say this but KIA/Hyundai are really knocking it out of the park these days.

A few years ago I bought a Bobber black and it’s the best bike I have ever owned.

This is exactly where Porsche was with the 911. Always had to be air cooled and rear engined. Every time they tried to change the formula it backfired and they lost money so they were burdened with history.

“We’ve banned travel to Canada because of COVID for a whole year!” For much of last year, Trump was pushing Canada to drop the ban that Canada put on people entering from the US, not the other way around.

I am a huge fan of button starting in a sem-modern car where the only thing you have to do is push a button.

Penelope Pitstop knows what’s up:

I kind of agree with them, I have a great deal of respect for the cars and what Tesla have achieved but to me the cars themselves are just a bit..meh in terms of design.

Honestly, I would snap that up and IMO is a great deal. I am in Canada and was cross-shopping the Lexus with the equivalent Land Cruiser and they are as rare as rocking horse poop at that price. I actually gave up and settled on a JDM VehiCross but would still love one of these.

There really is nothing quite like a cabover Pete with a reefer on.

Compomotives:

Audi managed to design a station wagon 30 years ago with a drag co-efficient of just 0.30 without any fancy ‘air-channeling’ frippery.

I’m not one for retro cars but the fact that Rolls had no money for so long so that it’s design language was set in stone before BMW took over actually did it some favours. It looks unapologetically blocky and imposing just as a Rolls should be and you honestly cannot mistake it for anything else. In fact to apply

For some reason I enjoy car detailing and restoration channels as well. Maybe not drive through washes though.

Maybe not one car length at stops but at least enough for you to get around the car in front comfortably should it breakdown or something else. Seems a weird one.

Slow, expensive, out of date and irrelevant. Biden and NASA need to look into the sunk cost fallacy they are continuing with SLS and admit they have driven themselves into a technological cul-de-sac.

This is somewhat true, historically SAAB was their rival simply because...Sweden and they both attracted architects, engineers and pilots apparently. The thinking man’s BMW.

I never even considered one at the time but you’re right, in 2021 it is strangely compelling. I will say that the cleanliness and simplicity of this design puts current Honda designers to shame.

I think these are a great example of necessity being the mother of invention. Porsche was in dire straits around this time so borrowing heavily from the 911 (including these lights) as well as designing a single unit design that doesn’t require separate orifices and parts for turn signals was smart.

I had Lunar Rover Patrol on my old Tandy TRS-80. So weird to see a reference to it after so many years of not thinking about it at all.

I can see this wheel working only if it had one of those variable steering rack things that Honda and BMW toyed with in the early 2000s which I thought was actually a pretty good idea. It seems like something could bring back and do well.
