You really don’t have to watch What if... It adds some nice flavor, but it isn’t necessary at all.

I really think this is a turning point in leaning in on the interdependence between previous work. Not only did the core motivations 100% depend on a Disney+ show, but they did not spend one second recapping it for people that hadn’t watched it. I watched WandaVision, so it wasn’t a big issue for me, but someone that

It’s tricky because in the first book Hammond dies at the end. So the 2nd book and the 2nd movie diverge drastically.

You know failing malls with exorbitant rents - whose locked into 4K of those?

DO NOT RUN THAT CODE!

Looks great, the doubling down of the ranked gambling points seems like a great innovation.

I believe there’s video of Peterson high out of his gord literally eating his own shit.  He shouldn’t be saying anything about anyone’s appearance.

That’s why I said “TNG in a sense saved the franchise because the entire cast (except the name of the ship) had nothing to do with TOS. Instead the connecting glue was The Federation.”

It also didn’t help that the two directors despised each other.

It’s a problem with the entire IP. The universe itself is pretty boring. The interest is an small set of characters, not the interactions of cultures, races or empires. So when that small story was done, so is a vast majority of the interest in the IP.

They would have definitely said “The final season” in the trailer if that was the case.  That’s how HBO roles.

They are honestly just not going to mention it again.  The whole thing was a complete mess.

I agree that the show has been a complete mess, but the opportunity to have a “next next generation” number one that maybe didn’t get along with Picard as well to play off the original TNG crew opens up a lot of interesting interactions.

I strongly suspect there was a huge shake up in the plot of season 2 just before it started filming. There was a lot of talk that season 2 was going to revolve around the abandoned Borg cube and the Romulans, not one mention.

He was never a great actor, but he has completely deteriorated over time.  For god sake don’t listen to him read any audio books!

Considering that he was the only thing universally praised in the trilogy, I think it actually helped his career.

And one of the things we borrowed from Next Gen that I really liked, is that we have this big cast—“let’s find a way to give everyone their own story.”

Trek is always meant to be an ensemble show.  It sounds like they got it right this time!

Calling it now. This is going to be the movie every high-schooler of this generation watches stoned.

Look, the dart lands where the dart lands...
