My personal prediction is that the ratings are going to be terrible for the second season. With every fan of the books having completely turned on the show, they are going to lose the people that tell everyone that they have to watch it. And now there is a substantial set of diehards that are actively rooting

I’d feel a lot more confident in Bungie if they hadn’t tried and failed several times to make a second game for years now. They have yet another rebuilt incubation team, maybe it will work this time. I sometimes question whether Bungie’s company culture lets them build a second team.

I get the distinct feeling that they are trying to driving io9 out.

It’s tricky, Foundation is not a terrible show on it’s own, but it is such an absolute affront to fans of the book that it most certainly deserves to be on everyone’s worst list.

American Gods was just a classic case of people being too greedy.  If they had stuck to the source material and just made a two year 20 episode show that had a beginning and an end, it would have been brilliant.  But instead they tried to spread it out into a full series.

Perfect list.  Exactly right!

Luke, you actually need to do some more research. There are new EU regulations coming into effect in the next two years that limit crowd funding with large amounts of money. Using blockchain protects Kickstarter from those regulations. That’s why they are doing this. 5 minutes of research on Twitter would tell you

Equally hilarious is that he’s using a completely outdated blockchain. Right now, the “gas fee” (the absolute minimum cost to make an Ethereum NFT) is around $50 (that’s just the cost of electricity). So to make any profit selling a piece of virtual land you first have to light $50 on fire. Selling entertainment goods

Sunk cost fallacy. This show is going to suffer greatly from the break between seasons because the fans of the books simply hate the show and something new and shiny will be out when Season 2 comes out.

People who say the books have no female characters don’t know what they are talking about, both “The Mule” and “Search by The Foundation” have women as the central characters.

The clone dynasty was one thing I was okay with regarding changing the books (as long as they underplayed it instead of becoming such a central focus). Letting one actor be the face of the empire over 300 years would have been a nice touch. But this show is such absolute garbage, and such a complete insult to the

The whole show is an affront to the books, and frankly Apple should cancel the series and issue an apology.

There is a rumor going around that they don’t have the rights to the robot series, so they can’t use the three laws of robotics explicitly.

Nice try, but that’s not what happens in the books.  Terminus is one of the possible outcomes, he says it right in the book.

2004 Spider-man 2 is one of the absolute best superhero films of all time (and given what was going on with superhero films at the time I would say the best). And Alfred Molina’s Octavius is easily one of the most well fleshed out supervillains of all time. I hope/suspect that this movie is really going to lean into

Honestly, just pirate it. Paramount did this to themselves, they don’t deserve the protections of copyright.

That has always been my central problem with the show. Star Trek is suppose to be an ensemble show. Sure, the captain is an very important figure, but this show is 99% Burnham when it should be 25% Burnham and 75% divided between the rest of the crew.  It makes the whole show much richer.  But they thought

You can make an NFT pay a percentage of the resale to the original creator. So I can make an NFT such that I get 10% of resales forever: e.g. I make an NFT, you buy it for $20, then sell it to Bob for $40, Then Bob sells it to Mary for $30, and Mary sells it to John for $10, I get $20 + $4 + $3 + $1.

What if you sell an NFT as a resellable ticket to play a game with a custom avatar/spaceship/tank? I think NFT could be an interesting way to purchase games because it has a mechanism for players to resell those games and the game creator gets a portion of the resale.  So imagine Gamestop if Gamestop split the game

A press tour for a movie that has been out for a month that I never even heard of before this article.  I think it’s safe to say that’s a lost cause.  Because it is Munn, I wouldn’t be surprised if she was keeping the press tour going solely for her own chance to get press.
