If you’re a fan of the books (as you and I appear to be), the show so far is an absolute travesty.  I’m almost to the point of starting a review blog that just rips into how badly this show is doing at adapting the books.

I thought is was because someone at Hulu got tired of super spy 355 fainting once again.

It doesn’t help that many women wouldn’t sleep with Barry Keoghan if he was the last man on Earth.

I’m sure an episode of Titans cost less to make then Diana Lane’s per diem.

If people think Hulu doesn’t know the exact number of person minutes spent watching that show, I’ve got a Martian IT department to sell them.

Maybe make an animated version, much truer to the comic.

I actually don’t mind Yorick being unlikable, it’s 355 being completely incompetent that really bothers me. It also really feels like the whole point of the prominence of trans men in the show is to get Yorick out of jams when he invariably gets caught once again by some women because he is a complete idiot. The trans men are a complete plot device, and other than Sam (who is actually played by a man!!!!!), aren’t developed…

I think there is a dangerously high chance they are never going to get it together to film the second one.

They really need to announce that they are filming Dune 2 soon. People are going to catch on that this movie is complete cliffhanger and that there is a very good chance because of Covid and WB releasing directly to streaming that there will be no second half. It might become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I’m starting to think the Goyer actually hates the books and the whole show is going to be a childish refutation of every idea presented in the books.  So far, the whole show is a complete insult to everyone who is a fan of the books and the trajectory is getting worse.

The final books are too dense for just movies.

My theory is that this whole thing about the series not continuing is just a ploy to drum up publicity.  They make a huge announcement around episode 5 that the series will continue.

I think it was a mistake not to recast.  Alex is a very important character in the rest of the books.  I really wish actors could just not be shits.

It depends a lot on running time. If each one is 90 minutes, that the same as 10 hour long episodes.

As a fan of the books, this show is really starting to piss me off. The solution to the first crisis is clever and would easily work on TV and even in the context of the first two episodes. The show has not established that Yorick is that important at all, because the show has done a terrible job of explaining what is going on.
