My understanding of the history is that Spielberg came on after WB had bought the rights and already begun some preproduction. WB came to Spielberg with the movie, not the other way around.

Right now I think that’s on track to come out on Netflix two weeks after it gets a buried release in February.
He got a two book contract after Ready player one. His next book, Armada, was such an offensively bad book (it make RPO look like war and peace), I’m sure the publisher was like: Just shit out a sequel to RPO for the cash and get out of my office.
People act like Spielberg using Ready Player One was an artistic choice. Look, like or hate the book, it made a boat-load of money. WB and Spielberg are not going to adapt you favorite book that sold 7500 copies no matter how good it is. This is commerce pure and simple, get used to it.
And as a craftsman his skills are second to none. He makes excellent looking films with a decent budget with exception editing and great performances out of his actors. You might think he is not a good fit for the franchise, but I’d be comfortable with him making any movie.
I don’t think Timm would take the job. He likes animation, he makes plenty of money, he gets total autonomy. If he moved into the live-action world he would have a million people sticking their nose in. I like to think Timm is smart enough to stay the hell away.
Housing is difficult, because it’s a very different type of consumer good. Thanks to the 30 year mortgage people are not very price conscious and in many cases, people with extra money just pay more for housing since it’s such a bidding war product. In high-price areas the cost of a house is an afterthought compared…
I see this as the number on issue for America, so I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about it. I think the correct answer (as you mentioned) is create incentives to reduce the concentration of good jobs from key cities and to increase the ease of people moving. I think the federal government should create a matching…

Trust me, a stroke is the solution that ends this with the least bloodshed. To the point where I believe he will fake having one before the end of next year. And if he does none of us will press the issue of trying to figure out if he’s faking it.

Let’s no get too excited. I’m guessing that there is about a 90% chance that the whole Callister episode is about a group of people “playing” star trek.
I’d like to read Snyder’s script before Justice League got cut down from two movies to one movie.

I loved the hotel. I felt like that part could be expanded into a whole novel on it’s own.
I feel like Century rain was almost written to become a TV show. The genre mixing seems exactly like the kind of idea that could pull in a very diverse audience (e.g. I could see my wife loving big parts of it).
Pushing Ice is good, but question: Did you like any of the characters? By the end I routed for no one.
Ok, that’s worth an extra $3 a month.
Nah, it’s straight up Game of Thrones shit. When you have a person that grants power based solely on their emotional whims it simply destroys any organization. People with integrity quickly leave and it draws the worst kind of people into it because they all have the belief that instead of being competent they can…
What’s is hilarious is that they could actually do this. You don’t have to be a member of congress to be Speaker of the House. As long as I could stay safe during the brief civil war, it would be hilarious.
