As someone in the industry for many years, this level of trashing other studios is really a big change (other than the odd indy dev trying to get attention). I’m hoping it doesn’t last for long. Making games is hard enough, we don’t need to waste energy attacking each other.

It is really nice to have a private backyard when your kids are 0-10 (which can be a substantial portion of your life if your kids are spread out in age). If you’re lucky and have a good job that’s still possible in some cities. One additional difficulty is that it is so expensive in a lot of cities now that many

Christ, does anyone have a decent camera at this event. Those pictures look like they are from an original iphone.

I just wanted to reply because you obviously took some time transcribing this. I get where you are coming from, but to me it just is not realistic. Burnham was on her original ship for seven years, and more importantly she was promoted to a the key leadership position during that time. I just don’t believe that she

This is not true. Watch the exchange with Sarek and Georgiou near the end of episode 1. Sarek says that this is a different situation then when the Vulcan’s encountered the Klingons. The Vulcan’s always encountered individual houses while the Klingon’s were in disarray. This ship, by activating the beacon, is

This is just completely wrong. Watch the episode again. At 25:06 (on netflix) the Klingon swings his blade at her, she activates her jets to escape/dodge, accidentally rams into him and kills him with his own bat’leth/spear thing. It is not self defense, it is a completely a panicked mistake.

I feel like no one here really appreciate what she did. Killing the Klingon was an accident that should have been a blemish on her record. But she just panicked.

She panicked. It really is as simple as that. It would have been much better if that was her only crime.

Me Three. There’s an alternative timeline where Charlie found an investor and bought io9 instead of leaving. A better timeline.

Just because you’ve made up some movie between IV and VI doesn’t mean it actually happened :)

My question is: This is at least the third movie where the cgi has been terrible to the point where it has become a major issue in reviews. For a movie with this kind of budget there are plenty of effects houses that would do a better job. Is there some reason they keep on sticking with whoever they’ve been using?

Well, it is a business, so they have to deal with reality. Beyond that, actors are not just a free resource, they are committed to other projects (supposedly Henry Caville’s moustache cgi-removal is so bad it actually detracts from the movie).

That would have been prohibitively expensive to reshoot everything.

He comes back.

Exhausted of horror movie, and I haven’t paid to see one in a theater for a decade. Plus half the horror movies today are actually torture-porn which I find offensive. Horror movies make money and are in theaters because they are incredibly cheap to make. They are the Twinkies of movies.

I know it’s not a common feeling but I think Chris Evans is the best actor in the whole crew. I’m going to really miss him when he’s gone.

It made a lot more sense with the original plan when they were working on JL and JL2 as back to back movies with a continuing story line. But Synder became such poison that they have had to reorganize everything.

It’s interesting, I think they would have kept Whedon on forever if he wanted to stay. Pretty much everyone agrees the issues with Age of Ultron really weren’t his fault.

Synder is already out. They are just being polite about it.

I almost think it will be the opposite. There are a few public examples of her and the studio having different ideas, and critic and the audience agree the her choices were correct every time. Given that Synder is out I hopeful they will give her a lot of autonomy. I’m actually hoping WW2 is great and she helms JL2 -
