I’d pretty much agree with this ranking. I actually didn’t like Spider-man that much - and I did like the first Captain America - so I’d probably just swap those two and the list would be good enough. And probably swap Age of Ultron and Doctor Strange, but that’s very minor (Ultron was just given too much to do to set

I agree, I’m going to watch the two Infinity War movies, and that’s probably going to be the end of watching super-hero movies on the big-screen for a while. It was great they got me to see Thor by taking such a huge left turn, but I think the genre needs a rest.

Good time spent world building is your first line of defense against plot holes. Which will alienate your smartest readers and your biggest potential fans. So yes, it isn’t a substitute for story, but it is a vital and important step in writing a story that your readers won’t punch holes in the minute they start

I guess you should also be feeling bad about yourself

Because you’re trash, your stars are now negative

Here is something most people don’t understand. The United States is huge. There is going to be every kind of wack-job there is in a country this size. If something is being done by less than a few thousand people in the US - YOU SHOULD NOT CARE AT ALL.

Ha ha! That’s brilliant! I think there are a lot of holes in that theory, but I like your style!

My current theory is that Tyler is Tyler and has undergone some painful surgery where a hardrive with Voq’s conscience is attached to his brain stem waiting to upload at the right moment.

It’s a tough choice because the CBS streaming service is such hot garbage. I’d probably go with the purchase option if I could.

I think they should have made it a little more obvious, but I think the writers intention was that Lorca manipulated Stamets into doing the final jump.

Frankly, if I was Doug Jones, I’d be pissed. I know he had a big part on the singing planet episode, but I still feel like his character is being written out of show. Burnham and Tyler are sucking all the oxygen out of the room.

The truth is Hollywood is in a great place right now with effects and (more importantly) production design. If you’ve got money for your show/movie that problem is solved.

Good for her, Ratner being a disgusting human being has been common knowledge for years, but his ability to bring in money has protected him. Hopefully this will cause some ripples. There are plenty of competent people that aren’t scum that the studios can work with instead.

It really should be on the list. I worked at WB towards the end of the game’s life and the fanbase and community for that game were just fantastic. Great players and a great dev team doing everything they could to improve the experience. Huge accomplishment!

I like to think that maybe it’s them implanting Voq’s personality in some kind of physical manner. Some kind of brain-stem implant or something.

This is one of my big issues with the STD ultra-fans that seem to be coming out of the woodwork at io9 right now. I understand and also desire having character that are more complex than what we’ve had before, and I feel like DS9 is a great example of that. Lorca to me is bordering on moustache twirling, so I don’t

I think the notion is two radial coordinates, yaw and pitch so you don’t need three coordinates. It’s a direction and then they usually specify the speed afterward.

Man, I thought I was a nerd.

Just out of curiosity, if Burnham is going to discover her humanity on Discovery, why didn’t she discover it during the 7 years on her previous ship?

I think you’re really misremembering things. Everyone actually into Trek LOVED the long arc in DS9 (except the television people - because they thought it made syndication harder).
