As someone who worked at a FL DMV, this is bad and I didn’t work as a clerk, but in IT. There is a reason dealers are required to do this as parts as transactions and within time periods. Bigger dealers do title transfers and such if they have the personal and proper equipment. Small dealers bring the deals to the DMV

Because Florida? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

4th Gear: I dont think Bentleys jump is purely for regulations. EVs provide a much better building block for a smooth driving quiet luxury car. Think of the money Bentley and RR pour into making huge torque motors that they have deaden the sound on to whisper quiet and then make transmissions shift smooth through all

do they have QC issues and design flaws? yes. is Elon a douche? yes.

Fuck hyperloop. The world's automakers are scrambling to compare to tesla (and some are) and NASA can launch rockets again (really well and cheaply). Sure, Elon's a douche and does some crackpot shit but those 2 things are going pretty well.

It has to be said that Tesla made the first truly desirable BEV, at least to my knowledge/memory. Musk is a giant asshole (and robber baron/likely Bond villain in my opinion) but he gets points for that. And he also gets points for pushing Tesla to the point of pumping out as many cars in Fremont as he does. These are

I’d avoid those Caribbean ones like the plague, as they seem just abjectly terrible. But we had a great one for our honeymoon, it was a grand Mediterranean cruise. Outside of two days at sea, you basically just used the ship for dinner and sleeping. You’d get up in the morning, hop on a bus or just walk away from the

Or he has zero understanding of titles and hierarchies in large companies.

it’s easy to wonder if this production record is indicative of the company’s tendency to rush things more than is wise

They sold over 900,000 cars that ,according to Jalopnik, nobody wants last year. Incredible. Imagine if they made a product that actually appealed to buyers…

4th Gear: Hydrogen made from brown coal. So much for it being green or clean. Deriving the hydrogen from Methane would be preferable.

VW Fires Boss

2nd Gear: The argument that America needs to shit out a 20k EV is stupid. People aren’t going to buy it. Average price for cars is up in the 40s now and you can get a very well equipped EV from multiple manufacturers (including Tesla) under that already. America doesn’t buy small penalty box cars. They will buy used

can’t have a tesla article, especially one pointing out their success without also shitting all over them.

just once I would like to see an article about Tesla on Jalopnik that didn’t throw in gratuitous insults.

disclaimer: I don’t and likely never will own a Tesla and am not a particular Tesla fanboi, although I do

The fact that Japan is importing hydrogen from Australia shows how insane and doomed the hydrogen economy is (especially for passenger vehicles). There is no cost benefit, there is no environmental benefit (they are using coal!), and there is no infrastructure for hydrogen.

Those things are not what we call mutually exclusive.

Turns out all of those things are true at the same time.

My 2019 had some cosmetic issues and a door handle that was faulty. Both were fixed in the first few months and its been problem free since. I replaced the 12V battery about a month ago which was a pain because no one carries it so I had to get a Tesla mobile tech to do it but they never charged me which is nice. I

People like to complain about Tesla quality, but has anyone done a study on long term quality? I know early cars suffered here, but i havent heard many bad things about like, 2015+ ish.

Free electricity to all through large towers spaced out around the US. Good times. Also, the AC/DC war and public battles, which ironically lead to the invention of the electric chair.
