Jake Paul and Pewdiepie are not at all in the same category. Take the time to watch a pewdiepie video and you’ll see how much he’s changed.

you meant “sentient” not “sapient” just fyi

Yeah, I mean, the Roman Empire stretched to parts of Africa so there were literally black Romans. But I’m not gonna be upset about very little to none black people depicted in Rome, Italy in some game.

And Jade Empire did have a token european. Although, to be fair, he was literally a joke.

This right here is exactly why, while disappointing, no one should be surprised by this, Japan does not have a history of healthy representation of diversity in any of its media. But at least it’s shown signs of getting better. I Am rewatching DBZ right now, just began the Buu saga and holy fuck I forgot about the

While still disappointing, I don’t find it very surprising that a developer from a country in which 98% of the population share the same ethnicity and culture struggles to grasp the depht and importance of representation issues.

That’s fair. I think I’d be more receptive to some of those criticisms if they weren’t attached (fairly or unfairly) to conspiracy theories. And to DeMayo’s gossipy nonsense. That’s where it becomes a little muddied for me. I want to take criticisms of the show seriously but if they come from fan whining and a diva

It might be better for each individual company to be getting less and less of his attention and just be allowed to run without his interference.

Have you...have you looked at Cavill’s prior statements about the show in articles in interviews? It’s pretty clear he was having lots of disagreements and issues in the case of this particular show. He all but outright said it in a few interviews, trying to avoid defamation/pr/career issues.

The fact the writers wanted to make the roach death scene a comedic scene, have Geralt barely talk until Cavill pushed against it, did what they did to Eskel, no less with little payoff due to lack of build up for the character on screen, character assassinated Yennefer, changed Elder Blood and a number of other

The problem a lot of people seem to be unable to fully grasp is that an unfaithful adaptation isn’t necessarily a bad one. The Witcher Netflix series while not faithful to the source material is a great series. The same is true for the video game series.

John Carpenter’s The Thing is completely unfaithful to the source

Stans are the worst.

I’m with you there.  Part of the reason I wasn’t all in on the CoD hate that was prominent during the late the 2010s is because I respected the single player campaign as scripted blockbuster affairs that could go crazy in ways that other games just didn’t.

For a visual prank it was a perfectly fine balance of effort and result, and the reactions have shown it performed well beyond its intended effect.

David Harbour as Santa is so obvious I can’t believe it’s taken this long to get there.

I didn’t realize bluffing was a part of chess, but OK.

So? It’s called a poker face. Mastered by a range of professionals from the KGB to Lady Gaga. “My opponent didn’t look stressed enough!” is not evidence of anything.

“You are fifty times hotter in person...And so am I hahahah

i don’t see any data separating the gay and bisexual community vs cis cases and rates, that’s why no one’s talking about it.

Why is this a story? How was he supposed to know she was her mother? I did a short stint working security for events like this a long time ago and it’s not like they provide the guards with a list of names + photos of people associated with whatever celebrities are there. The goal is to keep the wrong people out and
