A V6 Tacoma/Frontier/Canyon/Colorado would work. Not a crossover, more room than a sedan (5' bed in quad cab forms), no real driving nanny’s, not boring to drive (rwd or part time rwd if you get 4x4), plenty of power, available in manual, super reliable.

That sounds like a used AMG wagon to me! Get the W210 model for reliability.

I want to smile when I look at it. I want to feel happy when I sit in it. I want to be exhilarated when I hammer on it. I want to feel accomplished when I nail a perfect corner. I want to feel fear when I push it too hard. I want to look forward to the next time I get to do it all again.

There is nothing cool about the Crosstrek. It's the only car my wife and I both hated when we were taking test drives this spring.

To be fair, the Forester is a gutless wonk of a car whereas this can, at least, get out of its own way with that 280hp.

Now who’s this for?

Quite conflicted with the design...

I am thankful for our family ‘07 V70R. I love this car! Shown above is my “Holiday Hotlap” I got to take by myself in it yesterday. My wife, daughter & I drove down down to Ventura from Seattle for Thanksgiving with her family. I got a free pass to ditch relatives yesterday and drive my dream lap. Highlights included:

In our wildest dreams, there’s some guy behind this... exhibit ...holding up a signs that says: MOAR POLESTARS

One of my fondest memories is the night I passed a lifted diesel bro-truck fitted with massive tires in my old Mercedes wagon ( with good narrow snow tires ) at about 30 mph in ~8" of snow. He gunned it, but just kinda squirmed toward the shoulder. I beeped & motored on-grinning like a fool. Good times!

AWD and 4WD are both overrated. RWD with racing slicks and 500+HP minimum is how real men™ do it in winter.

The greatest automotive marketing ploy in the last fifty years has been selling “awd” to consumers who “need” it. A vast majority of the systems out there are utter crap that just cost more to maintain (looking at you, Honda).

That’s weird, Hyundai is known for their excellent dealer experience.

I just picked up a Stinger GT AWD last month... LOVING it so far. Debated waiting on the G70 as I think the interior is much nicer and, well, it seems a bit more on the sophisticated side. But now having seen it up close, I can’t say the styling is as nice or as distinctive as the Stinger. Dig the diamond stitching

Having no emotional attachment to the Camry and sort of liking the Golf Alltrack pretend crossover I think this might be a good move. A .7 inch lift and some stupid cladding and tons of buyers won’t be able to keep their wallets grounded to the ground.

Crossovers and pickups are the new boat-like sedans for the elderly. I swear to God I saw the Cryptkeeper doing 40 in a 65 in a gleaming new F-150 the other day.

Didnt realize SUVs were putting a dent in Camrys. Figured it was always parking barriers and such.

Compact SUV’s are the new midsize sedans, and nobody cares, it’s ok.

Tuner Crosstour is what you need, bro.

Wagons are the next step in the cycle.
