You would think, with as rabid a fanbase as Steven Universe has, that it would be a good idea to show reruns at a decent time (i.e. not a single episode at 6am only) in order to bring in new fans, but I guess not.

I can’t even breathe after that. The fact that it’s not even the series finale, even though it damn well could be if it wanted, is all the more insane.

It’s part of the great elemental wheel of Ooo: Candy beats ice, fire beats candy, slime beats fire, and chaos beats everything except for ice-powered wishes.

What an astonishingly beautiful finale this was. As soon as everyone started singing along to Rebecca Sugar’s “Time Adventure,” I instantly got goosebumps just knowing that an era was coming to an end. For a show that singlehandedly saved Cartoon Network when it was at its lowest point, it’s incredible to see just how

I’m hoping RS gets a shout factory box set down the line at some point. I really want to watch that show all over again

Wasn’t he dating Huntress Wizard? I haven’t watched in a while.

Come alooooong wiiiiith meeeeee

Really, truly touching. It hit me hard to that Betty’s initial wish for destruction of GOLB was not powerful enough. Destructive impulses are built on shaky foundations. It is in the desire to preserve and protect and make safe where the power gained enough resonance. I love the commitment to a wonderful message.

I really liked the resolution of the Finn/Fern story. Fern became a really interesting character, and the payoff to that arc was great. But Finn’s whole trajectory from season 1 rushing into battle to season 10 trying to stop the war stands out even more. I was in college when the show started, but a whole generation

AT is my #1, it rightfully sits there with the other classics like Samurai Jack (which honestly might be my #1 with the last season), PPG, and Dexter.

Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Steven Universe are probably my top three. On a personal level I think my number one might actually be Regular Show, as the finale of that one hit me like a ton of bricks, and I was actually bummed out about it being over for a few days/weeks afterwards. It’s a damn crying shame that

Me, now that I’ve finished watching the episode:

Just curious, where would all of you rate Adventure Time amongst all of CN’s original programming? At one point I would have easily said it was their greatest achievement, then later on stuff like Over the Garden Wall and Steven Universe kind of jumped to the top of my list. But on the other hand, you cannot

I liked how Gunter wishing to be the Ice King called back to the original Gunter's original wish to be like Evergreen.

Who in the hell would’ve guessed that it wasn’t Sugar’s song (which was magnificently executed, as expected) that opened the true floodgates, but goddamn Come Along With Me, that I’ve heard hundreds upon hundreds of times? At any rate, what a finale, what a cast & crew, what a magnificent run, and most importantly,

Gunter becoming Ice king and Jake’s reaction was the funniest thing to me. Glob I’m going to miss this show. I’ve watched the finale twice now and then reading this made me cry a third time. That song Time Adventure that Rebecca wrote, is so beautiful, it’s almost crazy how perfect it is. And BMO saved the day, which

Thanks for all the work you did reviewing and honoring this important series, Oliver. I’ve enjoyed talking about it with the other commenters here, using your impressions and thoughts as a jumping off point. You did work worthy of a show like this, and it was always clear how important the show was to you, even beyond

I did not realize that Felicia Day had taken over as the voice of Betty (“princess”). Originally it was Lena Dunham. It feels right that nerd queen Felicia Day would be on the show & in the heroic role that she played.

Shout out to the music tonight, along with everything else - both Lapis’s song and the instrumentals as Steven ventured further into Pearl’s mind.

Oh my god, I was wrong
It was Pink all along
