Little asides like that are funny precisely because they're never explained, like why Garnet was so adamant about keeping cows away from the barn while they built the Gem Drill.

You smelled what the Rex was cooking.
Steven Universe's wrestling episodes are so good, even Lars is likeable in them.
A lot of it has been covered elsewhere in the thread with the discussion about fans attacking each other and crew members over ships. You could also include the incessant demand for male gems or the demand that Pearl not be friends with Greg because she's disgusted by men. The latter in particular is frustrating…
We had to eat our veggies before we are rewarded with the sweet dessert of "Tiger Philanthropist".
I don't think the crew has soured on Ronaldo as a character, or else they wouldn't have given him the more contrite moments they did in this episode. It's just some of the things they're parodying are a bit darker than poking fun at the show's most diligent headcanon crafters.
Or their universe's rendition of Soul Eater.
Quite a few of Ronaldo's lines did come off as parodies of some of the fandom's less savory elements. Specifically the ones about the Gems hating men and twisting Steven's words of tolerance and compassion to support his rude behavior. Though with all the drama the Crewniverse has had to put up with from certain…
"Ronaldo created yet another conspiracy theory pamphlet about the Crystal Gems being evil"
"That's bad."
"He was immediately contrite and tried to make amends for it in his own weird way"
"That's good!"
"He trash talked Connie."
"That's bad, and also possibly dangerous for his health."
Steven's frustrations with Rose are perfectly justified, but there's still a world of difference between the kind of choices Rose made and her being the secret main villain of the series. This episode did a good job of acknowledging her failings while not villainizing her for it.
I had hope for the episode when I thought it was Ronaldo teaming up with Greg to write a 2112-esque rock opera.
Greg's jean shorts line is just begging to resurrect that John Cena meme. Maybe I'm just unreasonably excited for "Tiger Philanthropist".
I love episodes of cartoons where the characters pretend to be one another. Ed, Edd, and Eddy had a particularly good instance of that plot.
You know you want to hear Peridot announcing herself as the Master of Magnet.
Poor Peedee got cheesed out of the role of "recurring character Steven's age who is not Connie", so the position is technically open.
They're not just older than her. She's bossing around a waterbender and Magneto.
I can see that, though that may come with the territory of the show's Steven-centric POV. Lately they've been toying with more and more ways of bending that rule, so we may see an episode completely without Steven sooner rather than later.
Connie wins. Fatality.
I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more of Connie's life outside of her interactions with Steven and Gems. It seems impossible to me that she would still have no friends at this point.
I too like seeing a more gradual development of Peridot and Lapis from barely tolerating one another to functional cohabitation. I do feel that Connie's personality has been more defined than you give credit for. She's always been the thinker and planner of the duo, even if she is trying to rationalize something as…
