I also think it's safe to assume that America's colonial history is radically different. We know there are at least two Kindergartens in the continental US, which leaves a high probability of early explorers running into legions of building sized murder monsters in addition to the standard hazards of exploration.

Never doubt a Grim Fandango reference.

That's what I took from the episode as well. Even the basic act of providing for oneself is a huge step towards adulthood. A lot of things fall into perspective when your next meal comes from no one but yourself.

For as much crap as Man of Steel rightfully gets, I always liked the scene where Clark's mom talks him down as his powers are going out of control in school.

I would like to take this time to formally rescind my prediction that Steven will never receive a redesign for when he ages more noticeably into a teen. With this episode's focus on growing up, specifically that humans can and Gems never do, it makes perfect sense that he would be able to grow up when he finally

Just so we're clear, that like is because I'm sure you're correct, not because I'm happy that you're correct.

The only way to put her down for good!

I suppose, but that was more of an exclamation to anyone in the area. From then on she never directly asked a question of any of the Gems or replied to them with any statement that wasn't also directed at Steven. It's just a little detail I noticed that made me all the happier when she finally did develop an

I actually checked a screenshot of SU's world map just to make sure Bogotá wouldn't be underwater in the show's universe. You win this time, Sheltie.

The song could easily apply to at least half a dozen character pairs I can think of, most revolving around Steven. I've never gotten into the debate about who is singing it to whom because it's such a tightly written coda for the entire show, especially for a song that's not even complete yet.

She set new records for a Genocide speedrun.

The twist at the end of Infinite would make Steven an ideal Booker.

I remember that! Also, Lapis and Jasper's arc really reminds me of Elizabeth and the Songbird.

Sadly her shyness may work against us in this matter. It actually took until "Love Letters" for her to directly speak to any of the Gems, and those were the ones who hadn't tried to directly or indirectly kill her.

Her time will come, I'm sure. We're still in the thick of working through Lapis' character arc, and throwing Jasper in the mix would split the series' focus too much.

It hasn't been explored much since "Coach Steven", but apparently fusions have their own consciousness that is fully capable of subsuming her constituent parts. That alone would make for a compelling reason (or excuse) for Homeworld to outlaw cross-caste fusion outside of strictly martial purposes.

First she visited Rapture, now she can visit Colombia.

I don't know if I can subscribe to the idea that Lapis was involved with Centipeedle in any way. She said she was a neutral party in the war, and she has no real reason to lie to Steven. I took it as Jasper speaking in the only terms she understands: strength. Jasper may be a respected soldier capable of fighting
