I eagerly await Pearl's horror that Greg's burger jingle has more curative power than 5000 years of Rose's efforts.

I'm partial to that theory as well. Diamond is a title, not necessarily a description of their gem.
Or they all gathered in the other place their broken minds could remember. Either way, I loved it.
I actually believe the Pyramid gem from "Serious Steven" is a corrupted Crystal Gem, mostly based on the fact that one of her stone faces turned to smile at Steven as he was removing her Gem. Kind of like it subconsciously recognizing her former leader.
Maybe, though Amethyst is an atypical specimen of her kind. A corrupted Gem might not be able to recognize her.
The Monster of the Week formula didn't do too much to grab me, but I was more in it for the character building and the laid back feel before the plot kicked into high gear. Adventure Time was stakeless wackiness and parody for twice as long as SU, episode-wise, but I still enjoy those first few seasons immensely.
Honestly, the fact that they removed Pink Diamond from the sigil is one of the reasons I'm so invested in the Rose is Pink Diamond theory. If she'd died fighting on Earth, she'd be a martyr against the evil rebels, and even if they couldn't replace her they'd still memorialize her in gem iconography. But if a…
In the first episode it sounded like fist-pumping video game boss music. Here it's pure tragedy.
I've seen some fan art of corrupted Crystal Gems. The results weren't pretty. My mind immediately went to the idea of corrupted gems succumbing at different rates, and what would happen if one partner in a fusion succumbed while still fused to an uncorrupted Gem.
That's where the show really clicked for me too. It and "An Indirect Kiss" made a fantastic lead-up to the status quo shattering "Mirror Gem"/"Ocean Gem".
I didn't consider it either, but it makes complete sense. Music is so heavily ingrained in the show's identity, it only makes sense for the villains to make use of it in what's probably the single most reprehensible act yet depicted.
I'm a bit disappointed at the anticlimactic way Steven regained his healing powers, given that him discovering, using, and losing the power got an entire focus episode each. But I can't argue with results, and this episode delivered. Centipeedle's half-corrupted design was so lifelike and expressive, it hurt me to…
I would be more worried about how certain fan artists will interpret the Pizza sisters' touchy-feely relationship. Pinecest showed me the true face of fear.
Kiki even dreams in puns.
He and Jeff Liu just need some time to get their styles to mesh. I also noticed that Joe Johnson is now the series director. I'll miss his collaborations with Jeff.
Never fear, Sheltie is our ever faithful purveyor of Pearl love and wrestling gifs.
She and Princess Bubblegum would make good cooking buddies.
Garnet is a purveyor of spoilers. Unforgivable.
A giant half-cheese Nanefua head would have earned this episode a full letter grade from me.
This episode suffers a bit in comparison to yesterday's offering, but I'm willing to forgive that for finally giving us the Kiki focus episode she deserves. Even giving her that one activity she enjoys - running - gives her an additional dimension of personality that I would have liked to see from Lars in "The New…
