I've never actually driven a car! I know that's sort of terrible. I should at least know how to drive but its never really come up. If we decide to get one, I guess I'll have to learn then. The boyfriend knows how to drive at least, but he's been so long without a car that he doesn't have a license.

I'm 38 and I've never owned a car. Granted, for many of my early driving years I lived in D.C. and NYC, but I've lived in New Orleans for 11 years now and managed with their annoyingly inadequate public transport system. I do live in the city proper so my rent is a bit higher, but I did the equation above and found

Eating out. Video games. Books. Renting movies.

I like to use Hotels.com and Trip Adviser reviews to get price ranges and narrow down choices, but I always book right through the hotel. The rates are either the same as or less than the third party sites. Plus the hotels will sometimes have special rate packages.

I have! It took us a minute to figure out as it is not so much tap and pay as it is wave and pay. The convenience was really just not having to get out my wallet. I still had to put in my GW pin and hit ok a thousand times on the "Is this price ok?" and "do you want cash back?" buttons and then wait for a receipt.

I use Google wallet. I've had an account for a while, but just in the past few months started picking up on my usage. I definitely use it for sending money between friends. That has worked great. Not a lot of places are equipped for 'tap n pay' yet. Just the Walgreens around here. But, Google wallet does give you a

I did this on Facebook and purposefully listed only children's books. But, to be honest, despite everything I've read over the years, I still think The Phantom Tollbooth and my Nancy Drew collection had the biggest impact. I actually remember learning new words and ideas from Tollbooth. And Nancy taught me deductive

Just took it. Very correct for me. Guessed my dialect to be either American Standard, Canadian or US Black Vernacular. Also guessed my native language is English.

I moved around to several different states (urban and suburban) before my 20's and I learned to neutralize a lot of my accents and local sayings pretty early just so that people would understand me. (I was midwestern with a southern mom). I try to stay as neutral as possible at work, but the rest of the time,

Yeah, there are pretty strict rules about behavior. There was an incident at a bar I used to frequent a few years ago about it. Basically, you can't be crazy, sloppy drunk in public. There was a marine, an officer I believer, who was losing it drunk (like hello black out) at the bar. He was in uniform. He was super

I moved to my current town 11 years ago with a boyfriend. He was a part-time musician and shortly after we moved here met a guy with a band that was looking for someone and we were invited to have dinner at his house with him and his wife. Wonderful! Except he used the N-word all night and then proceeded to tell me (I

Right now, I walk 6 blocks to work so it isn't a big deal. But, I want out of this city. I really don't want to own a car though. Why can't everywhere just have amazing public transport?!

I've been getting by on the terrible transit system in New Orleans for 11 years now, but I don't want to stay here forever. I get rides now and then here but if I move I won't know anyone! (Except the BF) And, if we move, we'd have to drive and I don't want him to be stuck doing all the driving because he hates

Ohhh can I ask you, as a 37 year old who has never driven, was is crazy anxiety inducing to learn? Or did you already know and are just getting the license? I keep using "I lived in NYC" as my excuse for not driving but I moved away from there 11 years ago.

New Orleans, Louisiana (French Quarter)
$725
Advertised 1 bedroom, but really a large studio/converted attic. (Small kitchen, slanted roof in kitchen means no full sized fridge, teeny bedroom, hotels have larger bathrooms.

I'm on Cox and got an offer from them last fall for Basic tv channels + on demand access + HBO. $20 a month plus $8 for the receiver. So, if you're on Cox, they have a plan as well.

A million times yes to Moving Comfort. I'm a DD light jogger. Before I discovered Moving Comfort I was wearing a combination of 3 bras to do get through some cardio. They help with any cardio or calisthenics work out.

I second eRewards. I don't fly enough every year to accumulate lots of points and I don't have a fancy credit card. But you can definitely rack up the Southwest points with them. I've taken a lot of surveys about my grocery habits and tested a face lotion too! My few a flights a year plus miles from hotel stays plus

haha I was just talking about this yesterday. Google Now reminds me of when Patton Oswalt talked about getting a Tivo and how he came home one day to 12 hours of a children's show taped because he watched one show with horses. "But you said you liked horsies!" Everytime google now sends me an article about the Moto X

I don't game online or multiplayer at all, but when there is a gender choice I tend to choose female which I am in reality. I think that has less to do with a willingness to gender switch and more to do with the amount of games I play where there is no choice and the protagonist is male. Basically, I've played a dood
