I generally only worry about the recluse. But I did find the carcass of a spider under my tub once that stretched out would've more than covered the span of my palm. That's the largest I've seen in New Orleans proper. There are so many terrifyingly large things here.

I'm not a spider killer, but we do have the Brown Recluse in Louisiana and the type of house I live in would be prime living area for them. (Converted attic apartment with dead crawl space above me). The Recluse terrifies me and is probably what did that damage in that picture.

For reals. When I see a spider has taken up residence in a corner of my apartment I assume he knows something that I do not. Why would he be there if there's no food? I let a spider live in my soap dish for months and then one day he was gone.
