If I had to Sophie’s Choice it, I’d pick Lovecraft Country over another Marvel show. I actually enjoyed the (wildly uneven) batshit insanity of Lovecraft vs. another Marvel show, which are nothing if not consistently ... consistent. Anyway, not here to shit on Marvel (I watch all that stuff), but I did enjoy the narrat

I can’t speak on behalf of all reading-comprehension-challenged QT fans, but I personally just can’t manufacture the rage boner you’re rabidly waving at everyone in these comments. Known blowhard QT said some shit that isn’t true to justify whatever choices he made? OK? I’m sure the Lee family appreciates your

Easy money places her at Fox (etc.), but ... does anyone like her? Or, does anyone like her? Not sure where to place the emphasis there.

Is there a single person in the world who left this movie with a lower opinion of Bruce Lee because of that scene? Iconic, defining martial-arts star Bruce Lee?

Except, of course, that QT’s straight-up lying about how Bruce Lee felt about stuntmen, or how Polly’s book even pointed out how much respect Bruce Lee and stuntmen had for each other. So, y’know, other than lying about the core of the issue...

Counterpoint: he does seem to get it? It’s just that he isn’t issuing some big mea culpa?

But this film is full of wildly-fictionalized real-life people. It might not have made any difference to you, but the joy of that scene is built around it being Bruce. By your logic, why not swap out Manson for ... some guy?

To be fair, trans women will stop at nothing to bed angry, homophobic cretins.

I certainly hope their confused wieners start twitching, followed by—

Was she treated badly by Hollywood? It’s hard to think of a more beloved star. I get she was in Director’s Jail after Ishtar, which a man ostensibly would’ve avoided, but is the general consensus that she’s been mistreated? Asking with fully sincere curiosity (I’ve read no May biographies, if such things exist), so

He gets a lot of shout-outs (on Deuxmoi) for being an actually-nice celebrity that treats fans like human beings, poses for photos, etc. I don’t find him particularly funny, but I’d give him a pass for being a nice guy.

Hahaha. I don’t know what happened to my obnoxiously verbose response, but long story short: RM was a performer (and guest, I think) at an upstate NY resort (the kind that don’t really exist anymore), was a nightmare to the staff and patrons, and dramatically screamed into the air for help when approached by my friend

.

I’d offer there’s a huge difference between “not putting up with bullshit,” which suggests a no-nonsense professionalism, and “being a nasty, toxic a-hole.”

Rita Moreno! I had just listened to an episode of Maron with Sally Struthers, who had nothing but the worrrrst things to say about Rita Moreno, when I caught her whole really-bad-take on In the Heights. Then, a few nights ago, a friend shared a childhood story about Rita Moreno that scarred her (and her mother) for

They may very well be fake, but probably not for the reasons mentioned above; if he scrolled to the messages and took the screenshots after those features were added (last month, for example), the newer design features/icons would appear. Anyone reading this with a current phone that keeps old messages would

There’s bland-good, and then there’s bland-bland, and for me this falls into the latter category. I get they’re aiming to make an electric car For the People, but I’d argue that the typical Volkswagen aesthetic already achieves that (tasteful, utilitarian). This just looks kinda dumb.

Have we forgotten actors on late-night talk shows? I know they’re not much-watched anymore, but every other guest is basically a dead-eyed cipher. It turns out that when they’re not being fed lines actors are just as dumb as the rest of the population. Go figure!

we need to show young boys that men can talk about their feelings with each other
