This was an epic episode and a triumph. I feel like the A.V. Club hates everything sometimes

Dude. You somehow missed a super important thing. Serena set Fred up. This has been a set up since she returned from Canada. She and Tulelo made this plan to get her over the border and Fred in prison. All the clues were always there. We just didn't see them because we assumed of course she'd betray June to get Nicole

I wanted to love that “Cloudbusting” cue, and I get the spirit of it, but much like the beats that The Handmaid’s Tale has been trying to land this season, it was not earned. Then again, do any of us really deserve Kate Bush?

That last scene reminds me of a dream I once had, except they were all redhead Dottie Underwoods and therefore were fighting each other.

A great episode showcasing how far the relationships between Jane, Rafael and Petra has come. That scene outside the apartment is a million miles away from where they started but it is so earned.

I’ll give kudos to the writers for the Trish arc because, as much as I hated what it did to the character, all of it made sense from what we’d known about her before. It all built up properly and in a way that, as much as you wanted to shake the damn denial and superiority out of her, you understood why she acted as

I can’t believe you made it through the whole review without once saying “YOU’RE A WANKER, NUMBER 9!”

Those shots in the ruins were just gorgeous.

Honestly that’s one of the less unrealistic parts of this show. The real life MI6 is mostly nerds, not superspies.

I dig how colorful & bright Sanctum is.

This show is queer as hell already (three bisexuals, three characters I'd argue have strong bisexual energy, and a lesbian) so I don’t feel like it can really be accused of queerbaiting.

on a lighter note, Petra’s “I’m bisexual. It was just you” to Milos is peak Petra.

Nice bit of wordless acting by Jes Macallan: when Sara reveals her cut-out lingerie, and then asks Ava to close her eyes, her face conveys, you are wearing THAT and you want me to NOT look??

The Sara Seduction was a fantastic bit of both fanservice and timing gags. First making it look like Ava was dreaming about everything, then making you remember that Sara was a goddamn assassin (who still has trouble with heels sometimes, apparently).

Julia Garner is quickly becoming my favorite young actress. Excellent in The Americans and the best part of Ozark. I hope we get to see a lot more of her in this.

I’m a little irked Noah Emmerich didn’t get a supporting actor nom. I think I would have bumped one of the GoT’s guys for him

When people say Jessica Chastain is the perfect casting for adult Beverly, I shake my head, because there’s no way Sophia Lillis will grow up suddenly developing Chastain’s angular cheekbones; she’ll grow up to look exactly like Amy Adams.

1. Odette Annable has been the highlight of the season. Yes, the last third of the season really disappointed, but giving this villain a backstory and a foundation really allowed her to act and gave her a real arc. Best villain the show had. The writing let her down, not her acting.

Back when they started the Alura/Argo City plotline I said I’d wait till the end to pass judgement, so now that we’re here: man, what a fucking mess. I can tolerate some Silver Age logic in my superhero shows, but this episode ran on pure undiluted nonsense. Worst of all, at several points we had characters just

“Hey Alex - remember that time you wanted to torture an innocent civilian because you were feeling sad about your breakup with Maggie?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, I’ve decided to make you head of the DEO.”
“Really? But I’m barely 30. Shouldn’t a person have a few decades experience before they head up a major government
