Midge’s comedy has always been pretty brutal about the people in her life. She makes that point to Benjamin - that he would have been a punchline and exposed. To be honest, Sterling K Brown made the mistake of not knowing her act and the way she creates her comedy.

I like this take. Maybe it’s like the ‘Daenerys wouldn’t turn like that’ arguments in GoT and others saying the clues to her ruthlessness were there all along. They laid the groundwork for Lena’s reaction to the betrayal from S2. She has always been trying to make up for her family’s crimes and her plans have had good

Joel remains my least favourite part of this show, well, all the Maisel’s apart from Midge actually as the parents living together is supremely tedious. I was so relieved when that divorce went through and now they remarry??! We will never be rid of him! And the drunk Vegas wedding cliche? Not a fan of that part of

Agreed. Love Liza, and the Palladinos clearly do too. Is Liza Weil left handed? She plays the bass that way and not a spoiler to say (I don’t think) the bassist playing in Shy’s band late in the series is playing right handed and I suspect a Liza double. :)

Agreed. I was pleasantly surprised that we didn’t have Lena and Kara sitting on the sofa in Lena’s office with a ‘let’s not ever break up again.’ cosy ending. To have Lena get Eve to take the fall yet Kara and Lena know that was a cover story that may convince the FBI but they KNOW Lena is walking a fine line.

So great to see Dom get a win - this show only gives minor victories to our faves usually and I guess ending up with a knife in the chest isn’t the best ending, but extremely badass from Dom!

The theme of Elizabeth as a survivor is explored again as the scene with a sickly David falling asleep in mid conversation with her mirrors a similar scene between Elizabeth and Churchill in episode 1. Either that or someone thinks she is a terribly boring conversationalist!!

It’s getting harder and harder to separate my feeling for the Royal family from my feelings for the cast and characters of The Crown. Frankly, I’ve always thought Charles was a bit of a pompous idiot. I was always more of an Anne fan! A genuine sports star - she was in the Olympics - plus a no bs type person. Charles

Ditto. Excellent reviewing hitting the extreme highs of the Kara/Lena emotional wringer and the ‘Meh’ of their other storylines.

I am too young to remember the Aberfan tragedy, but the death of so many children in an accident born out of negligent practice by the National Coal Board. However it is even more shocking the way it was handled later on. It’s really worth reading this bbc news article

Vanessa Kirby was so charismatic and likeable as Margaret, despite liking Helena Bonham-Carter, I worried how she would do. Admittedly, I’ve watched all of the season but all I can say is HB-C does a phenomenal job of showing a woman getting older and constantly feeling undervalued and unfulfilled. Yes, Foy, Smith and

While most of the casting is spot on, I thought the new Queen Mum was a bit of a downgrade. Of course Victoria Hamilton was far too young - only about 13 years older than Claire Foy - but she had a nicely acidic quality!

Carrie Coon is brilliant in everything! Obviously The Leftovers was when I noticed her. First season was patchy, Justin Theroux was kind of dull for me, but Carrie Coon stood out from about halfway through that first season as wonderful. Not terribly believable as Ben Affleck’s sister in Gone Girl, but liked her

Brilliant episode! Thrilling and tense.

Never read the comics and not interested in doing so, but as an episode,of television, this was great. Jean Smart owned it. Love seeing her give no fucks attitude as she shot people, dismissed beurocratic cops and politicians and was just unapologetically badass!

Russell’s house had more than just a Union Jack up to make it British - thepotential weapons were an umbrella and a cricket bat and there was a dartboard up there with the Union jacks. Pint glasses in the ‘pub’ and accents were pretty good though:)

I think Lena’s deception - we’ve both been betrayed- was her playing Mal. I did wonder about her being all in with him killing J’onn. Relief she never actually was.

We’ve seen people have a bad day but not in the final before. I felt really sorry for Steff who had been the outstanding baker over the course of the season. They definitely seemed to be milking the drama a lot and I got fed up of Paul Hollywood standing silently looking mean and making the bakers nervous. Noel is a

Just finished the three episodes and I’m enjoying it. Witherspoon is fun, with some witty monologues. Anniston gets more to do on screen than she has in years. I always find Billy Crudup an oily creep (since the Mary Louise Parker/ Claire Danes business I can’t see him as anything other than a total wanker!) so he is

The one plot I’m enjoying immensely is Lena’s scheming and plotting. She is still just about redeemable and I think later in the season there will come a moment Lena will have to make a big choice between turning truly villainous - which I hope they pull back on and have her see the error of her hurt-and-betrayed
